Delicious. Burrito was just right!
Went between lunch and dinner so was very quiet but overall they were friendly and good service. Brought food to table. Played good Spanish music in background. Will be back!

I recommend going for the churros alone! But we also really enjoyed the surf & turf burrito as others have mentioned. I dont mind paying a tad bit more for super high quality food and insane flavors. Def recommend.

Epic Chicago
Tucked into the vibrant Sawtelle district, SONORITAS Prime Tacos brings the bold, mesquite-fired flavors of Northern Mexico to the heart of Los Angeles. From the moment you walk in, the scent of grilled meat and freshly pressed tortillas welcomes you–and your appetite.

The menu centers around Sonoran-style tacos, with high-quality ingredients front and center. The Prime Rib-Eye Taco, grilled over mesquite and served on house-made tortillas, is the star–tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. Other standouts include the Mar y Tierra Burrito, a decadent mix of Angus beef and shrimp.

The interior is casual but stylish, with a welcoming vibe that matches the warm and attentive service. Whether you’re dropping in for a quick lunch or planning a relaxed dinner with friends, Sonoritas hits the sweet spot between comfort food and quality dining.

I was pleasantly surprised. The food here was amazing! I had the Shrimp bowl with the avocado ranch dressing. So good! All the ingredients were fresh and cooked perfectly. The chips and salsa were amazing as well. This was one of the best meals that I have had in a very long time…And I have had a lot of good food….But something about this bowl. It was truly amazing.

The Baseline
The Baseline: For a Mexican fast casual restaurant the flavors of the food must make use of the prime Mexican ingredients (corn, beans, chiles, rice, cheese, and meats), preparation of sauces/salsas must be fresh, the meal portion size must make me feel full, and service must be efficient.

Food: The food at Sonoritas is a solid Mexican food experience. I had the Mar y Tierra burrito (half pound) and elote. Everything was fresh and delicious with the burrito having a good steak/shrimp ratio. The elote while good with a nice char to the corn was not a very large portion (I wish I got more). I have been here before and had the rib eye tacos and quesadilla which were very good too.

Service: Good service especially if you eat at the restaurant. It is a pay first and wait until it is delivered to table type of service. It was fast and efficient the day I went.

Ambiance: This is a nice modern Mexican fast casual restaurant. The inside and patio were clean.

A bit fancier than I typically go for in terms of Mexican food, but still, a great place for a high quality burrito.

The Chips and Salsa were a hit and a miss. I thought the chips had a great crunch and really enjoyed the dusting of chili powder, but they weren’t coated evenly. Some chips would be entirely seasoned while others were completely barren. A small nitpick, but something to note. The salsa was good, a bit too much on the watery side, but had a good smokey flavor.

Even though tacos are in the name, I came from the burritos. While the MAR Y TIERRA BURRITO is over $20 with tax and tip, you can see and taste where the money is going. This thing is beautiful and I was worried that because of its artistic presentation the filling would be poorly distributed, but was surprised to get a little bit of everything in every bite! The shrimp has a good char but the beef got lost in the mix a little bit because the pieces were so small. Texturally, the burrito packs a punch with a variety of smooth creamy and chewy elements. I love the inclusion of the chipotle mayo because of how it brightened up the meal.

Overall, I had a good experience, enjoyed the food and wouldn’t mind going back.

yes, the beef tacos are pricey, but you can taste the quality of the meat. The grilled veggie taco was delicious & hit the spot. Could have used slightly more salt on the rib eye taco & I maybe should’ve asked for salsa or hot sauce

This place serves seriously delicious tacos and burritos. It’s on the pricier side, but the quality of the meats makes it absolutely worth it. Try the premium cuts meat like ribeye and filet mignon. The service was friendly and helpful, and everything we ordered hit the mark. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

We had two burritos,

Steak burrito was salty and the meat was a little bit chewy.

Al pastor burrito, it was good but not the best. I had better. Also salty.

The drink was good

Maybe will try the tacos next time 🙂

Some seriously delicious tacos in Sawtelle. Actually everything we ate was better than we were expecting and we already want to go back to try more items. It’s more of a to go type of place but they do have seating inside as well. They have a fairly large menu but what makes them stand out is that they have premium ingredients like filet mignon for tacos, burritos, or bowls. There is a parking lot in the back that is for pay but otherwise street parking is easy to find in this area. It is a bit expensive for Mexican food, but they do have some great flavors. We placed our order to go and it was only about a 10 minute wait for all of our items so the service was very fast for us.

We wanted to try a few different items since it was our first time. We chose the Filet Mignon Burrito, which was probably my favorite because the meat was cooked perfectly and it was absolutely filled with avocado, which is one of my absolute favorite things to eat. We also ordered the Steak and Shrimp Taco which was very good and the Salmon Taco which was also light and tasty. Finally, we ordered the Asada Fries and really enjoyed them because they don’t skimp on the toppings. The portion sizes are not very large in comparison to some other places, but they certainly are not small.

Overall a really delicious spot, I would not say it’s the most authentic, but still worth trying because it really is very good.
