I’ve eaten at a few Sonny’s BBQ locations now and they have been quite consistent. The ribs were really good – this was my first time having Sonny’s ribs. I never get chicken at a BBQ place because it’s dried out 99% of the time. The chicken (dark meat) WAS PERFECT. Just the right amount of smoke and the skin was super crispy. Sadly, the brisket was on the dry side today but had great flavor. Unfortunately, that’s sometimes how it goes with brisket. The slaw was pretty good. The beans were good too. Generous portions for the sides. Overall I’m pretty happy with the meal. Dana did a great job and she clearly knows how to manage multiple tables at one time. She came back at exactly the right times! Give her a raise…good help is hard to find.

I used to come here all the time. Since the renovation, they went more upscale ( they are chasing 4Rivers) — prices are high and portions are small. It’s very poor value for money now. I sometimes drop in every 8mths or so and it’s just dead. Prices higher every time and the menu is more limited. Miss the old Sonny’s. $14 for a solo micro bbq chicken sandwich???? It used to be $8 and came with a drink.

Because I had not talked to a manager about a previous disappointment and still had the receipt in my purse, I explained the situation. He listened intently, examined the receipt, and offered an entirely different outcome. The results made today’s visit extra special, and I was particularly pleased that my free dessert on my app could be given to the friend celebrating her birthday today. We had arrived too late to sit with other senior bowlers. All but 4 had finished and left, and only 2 seats remained at that table, so the other 5 of us sat in a quieter area. We all enjoyed our generous portions of our barbecue meals and the festive atmosphere. Our server took good care of us throughout our visit and made sure we had beverages to take home with us and boxes for those in need.

Love to come for my food and special drink bartender heather provided great customer service. She is friendly and makes sure my drink is right . I’m picky with food and a drink. A servers nightmare she is always patient and so nice .
I come back because she is the best. When she is not working .. I wait long time , sometimes order isn’t right . I leave not a happy customer. They need like 10 more heathers lol

I ordered pickup from Sonny’s BBQ on Semoran Boulevard in Apopka today, and unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience — the worst I’ve had so far at this location. Even though Sonny’s is one of my favorite restaurants, and about seven years ago I gave this very location a five-star review because it was truly excellent, over the years this restaurant has been steadily going downhill, and today really confirmed that trend.
After checking in both at the desk and through the app, my order appeared to sit for about 20 minutes, likely under a warmer or in the oven, without anyone notifying me that it was ready. I eventually had to walk up and ask about my order before it was handed to me. When I got home, I discovered the garlic toast was missing, along with the barbecue sauce. The food itself was barely warm — the okra and fries were soggy, the tater tots were only slightly warm, and the meat was barely warm, which seriously impacted the quality and taste.
I also tried calling the store to speak with a manager, but was told the manager was too busy in the kitchen to take even a brief call from a dissatisfied customer. That lack of follow-up only added to the frustration. Sonny’s has always been a favorite of mine, which makes this experience especially disappointing, and the food simply did not meet the standard I’ve come to expect from the brand.

Went to Sonny’s to do drive thru, after 20 minutes of waiting on them to take my order I just decided to do it online curb side. Not only did it take almost an hour, but when I got home the whole family meal, sides and all were ice cold! Mine you I live less than 3 minutes from the location. And then I ordered two sweet teas. They gave me a hot gallon jug that no one drank. Thanks Sonny’s for always showing me why I stop going. ✔️

My husband and I love Sonny’s and either eat in or do take out frequently. We have always had a great experience dining or doing take out. Today when I came in to get a take out order I was assisted by Brooklynn who was courteous and prompt when taking my order.
