Definitely not the 4th best restaurant in Lake City, or if so yikes.
The service was mid, technically polite. Our tenders were hard and dry. The Mac and cheese was like Velveeta. Green beans and BBQ beans I’m pretty sure we’re canned. The baby back ribs were passable.
The restaurant was pleasant, but in need of some touch up and detailed cleaning. The restrooms were not great.
My suggestion: go to Culver’s or Chick-fil-A.

Stopped at Sonny’s in Lake City FL today for lunch. Sonny’s is still by far the best BBQ in the Southeast. Not only were the St Louis Ribs Hot, Fresh and Juicy, they were fall off the bone. My two biggest problems with Sonny’s is them doing away with the Salad bar, and lack of Locations outside the Southeast. David was an Awesome server. The Reorders were fast and the service was top notch. The Manager was very Friendly. Looking forward to return for another visit.

First time trying this establishment and I was happy that I did. The service was great and friendly as well as the atmosphere being very clean. The ribs, smoked chicken, and peach cobbler egg rolls were amazing great flavor. I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese as that was the only item I had an issue with but other than that everything else was great. Highly recommended place to give a try.

Honestly, my favorite Sonny’s so far. Everything from getting inside to leaving again was fantastic. Service was top notch and the food came out fast.
They’ve got new menu items. I went with the competition wings and my regular go-to side of corn nuggets, enjoyed the heck out of both. You have to be careful, the corn nuggets are like lava on the inside when they first come out but quite good if you let them rest a minute. The wings were nice and meaty, sauce was pleasant but doesn’t overpower the smoked wings. Highly recommend both the food and the location.

Edit: I took away another star for your poor/ lack luster response to my review that only made us angrier.
My fiancé recommend this place after he had eaten at another location. We got there and emediatly the waitress made us feel weird. She would not acknowledge my fiancé nor did she greet us or tell us her name. She then from the whole time were there only spoke to me. My man is not white and this made both of us feel very off. Then the food came…. for the appetizer we got the loaded tots. They were actually pretty good and it gave us time to experiment with the sauces. They had a peach sauce I believe at the front of the table that honestly was great. I got the pulled pork sandwich with beans which was fine. Now my fiancé got the pick 3 think is what it was called. He got the macaroni with meat in it, a sweet potato, ribs, and pulled pork maybe… he took like two bites of each and refused to eat more.. he said the meat tasted rancid/extremely gamie. The sweet potato tasted not fresh and like it had been sitting out for a day or two. The fat in the macaroni literally had him dry heaving. The waitress at the end comes by and asks how it was and my fiancé said well it’s still on my plate it was bad. The lady asks well what didnt you like about it. He goes through each item and tells her his thoughts. She then hands us the bill and gives me a to go box.. ANY OTHER RESTAURANT WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT FULL PLATE AND GAVE HIM A REFUND. I will not be going back. I can see from the reviews we aren’t the only the ones who got bad meat. You made my fiancé feel very upset about the way he looks and is portrayed as well. Hope your happy.

Great food . Great service. Great prices. Prompt service. I only wish that Sonnys would expand to Sputh Carolina bc I would be a regular. Great comfort Southern cooking and BBQ at prices that wont break the bank. I find it ironic that we recently got Lowes foods here in SC . One of my neighbors cayered it in for thanksgiving bc she had a 10 off coupon. I told her yes, if only we had a Sonnys BBQ and that I couldnt wait to go to FL to my Christmas cruise w my bf to enjoy it. She said Lowes couldnt evem do the mac and cheese or green beans up right. O my i commented. Bc i hv honestly nvr ever had a bad meal at any of the Sonny’s I have visited. I left my serber a 25 percent tip. She was prompt, polite , and professional.

Drive thru took about 20 minutes. All we ordered was 2 beans 2 fries and an order of slaw. The slaw and beans were so small I could finish them in 3 bites. We paid $3.49 each for these sides i can’t believe you scam customers like that just because they go thru the drive thru. Shame on you Sonny’s
