Sonny Williams has a nice atmosphere and our waitress did a great job. I ordered the 6oz steak — it was okay, but nothing special compared to other steaks I’ve had. My wife’s lamb chops had good flavor, but overall the food didn’t quite live up to the atmosphere. Service was solid

My husband and I went here for the first time for our anniversary and we were mostly disappointed. I’ll start by saying the service was excellent. We were a few minutes late for our reservation but there were plenty of empty tables and it wasn’t an issue. Our waitress was amazing and our drinks were refilled along with fast delivery of our food. I enjoyed the live piano too.
The food, however, was lacking. The bread had no flavor, the calamari was too salty, the green beans were not seasoned enough, the mashed potatoes were dry, and the steak was cooked perfectly, but lacked flavor, making it mediocre at best. I even struggled finishing my leftovers the next day. When paying $200 for two meals, I expect top tier, and we did not get that at Sonny Williams Steak Room. I doubt we ever come back and I would not recommend to my friends.

I’ve eaten at Sonny’s 7 or 8 times. Probably 3 of the visits, the food was amazing! The other times it was average at best.
Our most recent visit, I ordered the 10 oz filet for $66. I told the server I liked it “somewhere between medium and medium well.” He called it “medium plus.” When it came out, the entire outside was very charred, but I cut into it to find the inside was significantly undercooked. I showed it to the server and asked his opinion, and he told me it was medium rare and that he’d take it back. When it returned several minutes later, there was hardly a trace of pink on the inside (definitely well done), and the outside was so charred it made a loud crunch with every bite. I didn’t want to send it back again because my wife was already done eating by then, so I just bathed it in A1 and dealt with it.
Our server and hostess were friendly. The live piano was a very nice touch. Overall, my experiences here have been hit-or-miss, which is disappointing when you’re spending $66 and may get a really bad steak.

NEVER going here again.
Why is it so hard to get a good steak in this city? My wife and I visited and sat at the bar, where we were very excited at the great atmosphere offered. The appetizers were good, but the steak quality was horrendous. Nothing but dodging from one tendon to the next, with nice flavor, but no quality whatsoever, and for sure is nowhere near worth the price. I share this experience with everyone who asks for my opinion for dinner options in order to steer them clear, and I personally will never darken their doorway again. The reviews show I am not the only one with this experience.

All the pomp and circumstance of a high-end restaurant. The steak had a perfect char and seasoning on it, but the sides and the calamari left me wanting. The service was great.

We started off with crab cakes and salad, both were amazing! We were all offered bread and butter which I was so happy for, I love bread! For entrees I got the lobster with grilled zucchini, Mac n cheese, and baked potato. The sauce for the lobster (and the lobster itself) were absolutely delicious! Sides were good as well. My wife got the filet with green beans and mashed potato’s and hers was yummy as well! Our waitress Beth was super attentive and sweet! Overall an amazing experience.

My family of 3 goes to SW once a year. It’s our Christmas tradition. This may be our last year because when you spend $300+ on one meal you expect nothing but the best, right? We didn’t get that this year. Our meal consisted of two alcoholic drinks, an appetizer, three entrees and one dessert for $317. The charcuterie board appetizer is $44, is it worth that? Not really. It’s good but they fill it with grapes, pickles and olives and skimp on the meats and cheeses. Two of our entrees has steaks which were phenomenal but the sides were average at best. Garlic mashed potatoes with no flavor and sautéed green beans again with no flavor. The third entree was a lobster tail that was a tad over cooked with a side of macaroni and cheese floating in cheese colored water. The waiter did take the Mac n cheese back and replace it with a thicker yet flavorless version. Dessert: they offered 4 different options and my daughter chose cheesecake. It was overcooked. We were pretty disappointed in general. Our waiter was phenomenal and let us know it was a busy night and things might take a while but we didn’t mind that. We did mind, however, being seated next to a large party of very loud adults. We barely spoke to each other for most of our meal because we couldn’t hear across our own table. To wrap things up they charge their customer the fee they should be eating at the credit card machine. I spent $300 and they couldn’t waive the $8.22 credit card fee?! Rude.

My experience at Sonny William’s was perfect. I started my meal with the calamari appetizer. The calamari was fresh and paired with its tangy sauce; it was delicious. My entree was the filet mignon with a side of three cheese macaroni. The steak melts in your mouth, and the macaroni is cheesy goodness. The desserts are a must-have! The chocolate cream brûlée had me fighting for the last bite. And the bread pudding tastes like your grandmother’s recipe. The food is excellent, but the atmosphere is even better! The pianist is fantastic at his job and accompanies your dinner with beautiful music. The service is also incredible: We never had an empty glass. Overall, Sonny William’s is a lavish experience that, although pricey, is worth every dollar.

Ok, 1st off we eat out all the time and travel and enjoy food and drinks.
I ordered an old fashioned, it came out with the wrong ice, the wrong cherry and I sent it back, it came back with the correct ice for an old fashioned but that’s it. The appetizer was good, service was the same, but then I ordered their off the menu 12 ounce filet. After waiting almost 2 hrs from the time I arrived to the main course hitting our table, the filet was cold, over cooked and not tender. They did take it back and attempt to correct it but it came out almost raw when ordered medium rare. When the manager came around we expressed our issues and he said well I’m I’m glad you liked it and left the table. The environment was nice and the pianist was probably our favorite part of this dining experience.

Others have mention they had John for a server and how nice and attractive he is. I will have to concur. The restaurant is indeed romantic, the food was 5 star, the piano music was beautiful and if you are lucky to have John as your server, the night will be perfect. This was a date night away from the kids and this place doesn’t disappoint. Highly recommend.
