This particular location is a bit hidden in Lakeside, but it’s absolutely worth the drive. By far one of the best fast-food restaurants to eat.

Service is good with timely responses when ordering. I had quick response times when the place is not too busy, but I would expect an appropriate wait time during the lunch rush.

The food is excellent. Chilli dogs and burgers are good, and the sides are actually worth the buy here, unlike some other places. The milkshakes are great as well if you need something to cool down.

Sonic is a nice little place to park and eat at if you want to grab something on the road, but even though this one is more out of the way it’s still a great place to go. The driveway is clean and the building is well maintained. All the kiosks work well and haven’t been eaten away by the sun. I would say if you have a lower car you might need to let passengers crawl over to the driver side, but otherwise the experience is overall pretty solid.

No, I did not see any hedgehogs, but I did see a bald man in a red flight suit ordering in the other stall. Odd fellow…

This sonic location has become apart of our tradition before going to see Christmas lights (although we do visit throughout the year too) .. tonight was just unacceptable service and inexcusable. We order and the machine wasn’t even working, the order on the screen was someone else’s order. 30min goes by and they finally come with just the drinks and to take payment (this was after my husband got out of the car to pay at the window but they refused and sent him back to wait) .. another 25 min of them having my card, and waiting on the food, my kids getting antsy and hungry.
Food runner comes out and hands me my card, receipt and the food. Just to come back not even a minute later to ask for our order back after we started handing it to our kids. Literally just to comeback a min later with the same bags and box.
When we questioned her as to why, she got defensive and blamed management so I asked to speak with said manger.
The lady comes to my car and apologized for being short staffed (ok I get it) but our food was cold, wrong food items in the bag and she just kept blaming it on no staff… I felt bad for her but I still expect a certain level of accountability especially as someone who’s worked in food service for MANY years including in management positions.
It’s always been slow, but tonight just was the icing on the cake. We won’t be returning unfortunately.

This place has always been questionable. Tonight was no exception I ordered mozzarella sticks and the double smasher Sonic Burger, the mozzarella sticks had an no flavor, the burger itself was tiny and had no flavor at all whatsoever and grease galore with a little bit of sauce as well on the burger. The advertisement look wonderful but when you get your food kind of looks nothing like it. I repeated myself three times through the speaker if I can get two marinara sauces, and guess how many I got?. Sonic in Santee I hate to say it this is the beginning of the end.

I was craving desserts, so I decided to try Sonic again after 4 years. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries with honey mustard, and an Oreo cheesecake shake. I went in the late afternoon, and the service was quick, probably because it wasn’t busy.

The burger was okay, it was a bit on the wetter side, but still worth trying. I really loved the fries with honey mustard, though! The Oreo cheesecake shake was super sweet, definitely a sugar rush but hey, it’s dessert. There are still so many desserts I want to try next time. The server was nice, which made the experience even better.

I ordered everything online.
Then when I typed in the spot number The app was down. I asked 3 times to check in a order. As she skated by She kept telling me she would be back.
15 minutes later. I finally got my food that had been sitting there. Getting cold for 20 min by the time I got home. Everything was cold and super salty.

I just left the 10515 Mission Gorge Road Santee location and honestly, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The woman taking drive-thru orders had a terrible attitude — rude, sighing, and clearly frustrated the entire time. My receipt says Michelle, but the person who handed me my food was different, so I’m not even sure who was responsible.

The girl in the black shirt (maybe a supervisor?) was huffing, puffing, and complaining while working — super unprofessional. To make things worse, it took a while to get my food, and it wasn’t even busy. There’s just no reason for that kind of delay or attitude.

It really felt like no one there cared about their job or their customers. This was my first time visiting this location and it will definitely be my last. I’ll gladly drive further to another one where people actually care about customer service.

Giving for two reasons:
1. Politeness of the employees
2. Generosity of additional items such as bread, onion rings…etc

Technology is imposed in a way of minimizing the social interaction with other people. The tenders were fine and the fries were cold.

When I called back from the parking lot inter-phone for some buffalo sauce never showed up.

Customer service was fantastic 5 out of 5!! Food was not bad but the 12inch coney chili dog combo was definitely worth it. Never had one before and It was pretty good with some tots and an oreo milk shake, my belly said, ” what’s a diet?”. Also had a double cheese burger, it came with lots of mustard and 2 pickles (next time ask light mustard and add ketchep) only reasons not a 5 star sweep on food. PS they bring out your food on skates, thought it was a myth!!!

Whoever is in charge of packing and sealing the to go orders tonight should be fired, Around 10pm 9/9/25 I am missing multiple items. This is extremely unprofessional to be happening multiple times. On top of that the quality of what is being served is not far from trash. My drink was flat and nearly tasteless. For a $8 drink I would expect much more. And the corn dog seemed like it was almost raw but thrown into a microwave to “cook”. Horrible. Do not come here and save your money. Keep your family far away from this poison.

Definitely not the brightest humans are employed here! Long waits and mistakes with my order! The food was alright… definitely nothing special!! The strawberry slushy was by far the best and in all honesty, the only thing I would order again!
