First and Most important is the hatch green chili is off the hook now. i hope it always stays this flavor.
This Sonic has always been hit or miss. For a while we did not eat here because of the misses. Every once in a while ate at a Sonic somewhere else and food was always so much superior. but…. Lately this sonic has stepped up to the plate and back to make some very good food. out of the last 10 visits 9 were spot on with expectations. the 1 not was first thing in the am and ordered a burger and the bread was rock hard like it was left out all night. i ended up eating it like a tostada and only ate the non bread parts.

The food was cold, but the young guy in the drive thru seemed nice. The second time my food from sonic tasted like French toast sticks.. different sonics in different states. They really should separate their fryers.

For the most part is Sonic has Awesome food and service. Peak hours can be a little slow. And night time you can watch the workers sitting on the counters and laughing and having a grand ol time then your food comes out cold and not put together we’ll. Cheese mostly off sandwich is not how people like it. But man that food is good.

There was quite a line at drive-thru and I only ordered a drink yet had to wait on all orders in front. This sonic is very slow, most will bring the drink out so you can go, not this one.

The service was terrible and the food we received was poor the burgers were greasy and put together sloppily and the large onion ring we ordered only had 6 rings in it.

I get quicker service at a sit down restaurant. It took 10 minutes before anybody responded to take my order. It was an additional 20 minutes for my cold, tasteless food to come out. One of the meals was supposed to have jalapeños in it, there was 1 slice, and the other meal was supposed to be meatless but had sausage in it. The fries and tater tots tasted like they had been sitting out for at least an hour and were fried in old oil. From what I understand there were only 2 employees working and they were being extremely apologetic to the customers that were actually waiting. Very shameless of the owner to even have the place open and have these 2 trying to make it work, it definitely is not their fault but the lack of bad ownership and management. Don’t waste your $$ here.

I honestly have no idea how this location has above 2 stars. I don’t like disparaging our local businesses especially online like this which feels so cowardly but I haven’t had a good experience at the La Junta Sonic since I was in high school 20 years ago. Just ordered online, arrived at the time it said food would be ready and sat in a stall for about 10 minutes. The rude car hop who sure seemed like she was having a rough day hastily handed the food to me as quickly as possible and just walked away before I could check for missing stuff which is a constant. Like a sucker I tipped online which will never happen again. We had shakes and a slush which were all melted, indicating the food sat there as long as I did. We were missing multiple sides and as is the case 100% of the time there were no sauces. I pressed the button to ask for my order to completed and left after 5 minutes of not being addressed. Arriving home we find the food is cold, most dishes were overcooked and hard (chicken strips, popcorn chicken, and corn dogs). This is far from the only time we’ve been let down dramatically and I will not return, ever, not for drinks or a kids special occasion, never. For the sake of our local commerce and options for this town, please shape up some day. You make La Junta look like trash.
