They constantly make mistakes on our orders. I’ve been there more than 5 times and there is always mess ups. My daughter ordered motzerella sticks and there was zero cheese inside. Do better

Visited the store to purchase a bag of ice and a small cherry limeade. I asked for an extra cherry and if they charged me it would have been ok. Except I didn’t get the extra cherry but that isn’t why I am leaving a review. The bag of ice was a little over 3/4th full. For that price we should get a full bag. Most sonics have very full bags. The store had two other customers so it wasn’t a reason for the lack of attention to the order and carrying it out correctly. Lastly, and not the fault of the server is the touch screen. It didnt work correctly and I couldn’t leave a tip. Thankfully I had some cash.

DO NOT GO HERE – *WARNING*
This is consistently the worst Sonic I have ever frequented, which stinks since I live in Rose Hill and generally liked Sonic since I was a kid.. This location is single handedly responsible for me not eating the chili cheese coney anymore. I’ve received inedible ones on numerous occasions. During the special $1.99 coney all day deal the last time, I got them for my entire family for an easy meal, and no one ended up eating more than 1/4 before we gave up. The hot dogs obviously made long time ago, rubbery and burnt. The Chili tastes off, some had almost no cheese, others have very little chili or cheese. I’d been getting the coney for literally decades and did not have problems with any Sonic living in Wichita, Hutchinson, or Hays over the years.
I recently tried the new pulled pork sandwich when it had just came out, and it was very good, I thought I had found something I really liked at Sonic once again. But the next 2 times I went and ordered the sandwich, it had serious problems and was basically as bad as the Coney’s I often got served. The pork had crunchy bits all over each time. The bun was stale and I had to throw a portion of it away one of those times as well.
Last night, my wife wanted a shake, so I order myself a double cheeseburger, no mustard and ketchup. I was just going to put condiments on at home as I prefer. Well, I got home and opened it, and it was slathered in particularly mustard, all over the wrapper too from excess. I could barely taste the burger over it, even after scraping what I could off and it entirely ruined it for me. Usually, I can at least rely on a cheeseburger. Apparently not here. I have been served obviously old and refried tator tots and onion rings many times.
I have numerous more examples, but these three including last night came to mind.
The pictures I took don’t even do how gross it often is justice. And I took them on different occasions.. I didn’t even bother to take a picture of the slathered cheeseburger last night, it’s par for the course.
UPDATE: Previously, I stated if you go here, just get drinks if anything, but tonight October 20, 2025, I ordered a strawberry cheesecake master shake (they were out of oreos, I was going to get a chocolate oreo one), and after a few drinks which tasted okay, I hit something absolutely rotten and disgusting, unfortunately swallowed a bit of it before I realized.. I’ve NEVER had something served that tasted so gross. I had a sick taste in my mouth and returned it to which they voided the order and I gave it back to them. With a queasy feeling in my gut, I went home and puked in the toilet. I’ve learned my freaking lesson for the last time and I will never go back, even for a soda. What the hell!? I’ve never once in my life called the health department, but tomorrow I think I will be doing just that. I’m disgusted. The place was closing and I know it’s probably not the servers fault, but she just gave an awkward apology and that this was not her usual store that she worked at. Also saying they’ve been serving ice cream all night (as if that matters to me in my situation)! I still feel uneasy, not kidding, not exaggerating. Stay away from this place.
Go to Louis Cafe, go to Andover, go to Derby, don’t go to Rose Hill Sonic. I honestly have never been served so much rubbish in one location. I would never serve others the food I have repeatedly been served, and I can say that having worked multiple food service jobs (as a cook) in the past for years. As for the rotten shake, I’m never going to forget it. I will NEVER go back. 🙁

Consistent garbage, is the nicest compliment I can give to this Sonic location. They should do the town of Rose Hill a favor and shut it down. They say time and time again “under new management, we will fix the problems” they lie. They forget items, burn food, give half portions, mess up simple drinks and take FOREVER. Do not go here, save yourself time and just head to the one in Derby if you want sonic that bad.

There is no single location that has messed up more orders than this one. Over the course of 3 weeks they messed up 10 out of 10 breakfast burritos by not putting all 5 ingredients in them. There was one evening they made 4 hamburgers before getting a simple change of no ketchup correct. I consistently order light ice which to them must mean pack it to the top. I could go on. its worth the drive to derby any day.

I’ve never gotten my food here in a reasonable time. It’s normally alright quality wise but even ordering ahead and waiting 5-10 minutes past the estimate I still wind up waiting 5-10 minutes at the stall. Unless you really like the vibe, just go to a regular restaurant and you’ll get your food faster.

Rt. 44 Diet Cherry Limeade, easy ice. My drink of choice. Refreshing. Just good. And I like Sonic burgers best. I special order them on Texas Toast. That’s how I like them. And for fast food, y’all have the best onion rings. What I like, after 45 years, I still get the same drink and burger. It’s just as good and it makes me just as happy.

I ordered a chicken fried steak burger. I guess it had mayonnaise on it. I suppose that’s a normal thing you would think it would come with like gravy or something. Never had one till now. The picture seemed like it had hamburger buns but it came with the toast as buns. I’ve came here randomly and thought each time coming here I would have a different type of service or better service but most time the food is overcooked and it takes too long even for drinks.
Though they may be understaffed, because it always gets bad reviews, for speed. But The time it takes for it to get to you shouldn’t be an issue. As long as the food is good but the food has never been cooked right in my opinion. Since I was hungry I ate one of the burnt toast buns.. tried to steak, but apparently, I’m not starving.
I think the servers/car hops should probably get paid more considering they have to apologize for something they didn’t do. The time it takes to cook something past the cooking time is not their fault.

Ordered 2 drinks and came out in a timely fashion. I got an an unsweetened ice t and it tasted like a water with a splash of sweet t. I cant explain it much better, but it was not unsweetened ice t. It was an hour before closing so who knows went wrong, but not impressed.

Every single time they get the order wrong. I don’t go for 6 months. Then I think oh I’ll try again. Why is it this is the only place I ever go that has this many problems. Then people say well there just kids that work there. Even my 8 year old can read.
