The Sonic in Americus Ga is absolutely TERRIBLE. Terrible service, always saying they are out of menu items, or that the ice cream machines are down, or the service extremely slow. It’s absolutely horrible customer service. I love Sonic, but HATE going to the one in Americus.

I’m lost for words. I’ll share pictures I took before we ate anything. We forced some down because this was $19.42 and it wasn’t going in the trash lol. I could barely find the chili beneath the plentiful relish. I ordered the footlong because the picture Sonic advertises looked good . The cheese was all attached to the bag instead of melted in the chili like their picture. The burger had the texture of one microwaved and cooled down. The onion rings were overcooked and hard. It was almost 6:30 p.m., the cooks were probably tired from working all day. I can understand that. I was tired too, that’s why I didn’t cook and ended up at Sonic. *In spite of the food, the staff was friendly and had a pleasant personality. I suppose I feel bad because I was hungry and was ready to feast before discovering what I had.
Unsatisfied this evening……just purchased 2 medium blasts for $10, and we got two cups with a big gash from the top all the way to the bottom of the cup. When I asked the young girl why they had big holes,, she stated she had to use the thing to mix them. The appearance of both were messy… not pleasing. The candy only reached halfway the cup. Midway down was just vanilla ice cream. The taste I still give 5 stars. I probably won’t go back for that particular item. I took photos while riding in truck.
Update August 19-21, 2022…….. Sonic has stepped up on making the best blast ever! We ordered the Snickers blast I think on Friday and it was prepared perfectly. We decided to go back again today (Sunday), and they were even better. My spoon stood straight up. The appearance was on point. It was the right consistency and tasted DELICIOUS.
September 4th after 6:30ish this evening…. ordered 2 snicker blasts; got home and learned they were 2 Oreo blasts. Always check before pulling off. Lesson learned today. We’re so disappointed but
weather not favorable to go back.
September 24th…… Approximately 6:00 p.m. we got two Snickers blasts. They are prepared perfectly! They have redeemed themselves .
November 13,2025. …. At approximately 5:11 p. m., we stopped by Sonic to get an Oreo milkshake for my granddaughter. As we pulled off, she took the top off because she didn’t see the Oreos through the top. It turned out to be a cup of vanilla ice cream only. We went back around to the window, and as soon as I asked the girl if Oreos were added, she started laughing and said no. She stated she got ahead of herself and forgot to add the Oreos. It wasn’t that she forgot that bothered me, it’s the fact that she knew it from the beginning and let us leave without saying something and thinking it was funny she charged us for something we didn’t get!
For $6.13 for a medium cup of just vanilla ice cream, I could have bought a whole carton from the store.

Some of the food was good, but anything chicken was burnt and they tried to say it was just the grease is why it was so dark. It was overcooked. They did fix it and were nice about it.

Ordered $55 worth of food. Each order was wrong! Went back and explained and wrong again! Board did not work and employee came out to take my order, thought wow what great service, everything was wrong, even drinks! I understand why so many are closing down. I will never stop in again.

12/31/25 I had lunch from here on yesterday. I took it back to the office. I picked up the sandwich to eat it and the bread was SOOOO SOGGY, it fell apart. I called and asked for a manager. I told him how the bread was falling apart. He said they put oil on their bread when they toast it and the cook must have put too much on it. Oil on the bread? If I eat here again, I will most definitely tell them not to put oil on my bread!
I went here for lunch today because I wanted their awesome #2. That burger beats any Burger King burger any day. I pulled up to one teller, it was down. I went to #16, and someone else’s order was popping up on my screen. I pressed the red button to order,and to let them know that was not my order. But, no one came on. As I was backing up to go to another, someone came out to take my order. She let me knew what was going on. She took my order, and said she’d be back out. I was waiting patiently. 20-25 minutes passed. Surely I should have had my order by now. I pressed the red button again. She said someone will be with me shortly. Shecame back on to take my order. I told her that I placed an order over 20 minutes ago. She apologized, and said she took my order, but forgot to put it in, and to give her a few minutes. I told her to disregard the order because I only get 30 minutes for lunch. I was already late getting back to the office. I’ve been at work since 6:40, I’m hungry, but now I will have to wait until I get off to eat.

The food here is alright, I’ve been to several other sonics that have been better, the service is always slow. I don’t understand why it should take me waiting for 15 minutes when there is only 4 vehicles in the entire parking lot with a kitchen fully staffed. The drive in menu screens do not work properly, there is no reason anybody should have to yell over and over again to get the server to understand that I want fries. The server that takes your order is always short and rude with customers. There is also no reason that you shouldn’t have a sign up saying that the card payment system doesn’t work on any of the stalls. They are constantly out of several basic items on the menu. Why is it that every time you order a chili dog, they always put it on bottom so it’s smashed by everything else and there no cheese left because it got smashed into the bag yet again. This establishment should be shut down due entirely to the terrible management that it has been under. -10 out of 10. Will not be coming back here at all and will make sure to tell everybody that I know what a terrible establishment and management this location is. Anytime I want sonic I’d rather drive the 45minute to Albany then eat at the one 2.7 miles down the road from my house. The entire kitchen staff needs to be fired and replaced immediately, starting with management.
Edit: I made it home, started eating and the right off the bat I noticed the food tasted different and had a weird taste, but I was hungry so I ate it anyways. I make it half way through the hotdog and immediately started getting sick. Please don’t eat here, it apparently is now a health hazard. Never in my life have I gotten food poising from a hotdog. After this visit I think I’m just done with sonic completely.

I order a snickers blast and this is what the girl brought me! It was a mobile order and the stall I was in wasn’t working so I just use a stall that an employee was parked in which was 1 and I was parked in 3! My intention was to let her know what was going on as to why I order like that but she had an attitude! Next time I’ll make sure I ask for the manager to make my food!Only reason I didn’t make a big deal about it was honestly because I know the manager and he is awesome!Anybody need a day shift job please go see the manager!!!

I pulled into stall and pressed the order button nobody responded the red light went off. I pressed it again and after a few minutes I moved to another stall and got a response immediately. The server was very nice. The food was just a little better than luke warm and bland. It didn’t have enough condiments on it to taste. The tater tots were ok. The most satisfying thing was the milk shake. They always do good with them. Sonic is always take out or to go.
