The most solid four stars I think I’ve ever given. Nothing about this place was five stars, but nothing about it was three. It’s tight, but cozy & the staff is very friendly.

We started with the calamari, definitely not the best I’ve had but didn’t regret ordering it by any means. The complimentary bread was good dipped in olive oil.

One of the employees recommended I get the Salsicce E Friarielli Pizza, he told me to hold the Fondue and add shaved Parmesan. This was the star of the show as I really enjoyed it.

As for dessert, the cheese cake was actually quite good. However, for $16 it was comically small.

Overall, I liked this place enough to try their other locations in NYC & see how they compare. I should also note that the NJ location was BYO with no corkage fee as of 1/16/26. I saw conflicting information about this online.

The restaurant is well-maintained and welcoming, it really feels like being in Naples. But when the appetizers arrived (fried calamari, grilled octopus, and finally the queen of them all, the pizza), I truly felt like I was in Naples. The staff even offered me a second round of liqueur, just like they do in Naples, which I really appreciated. I recommend it to all the locals and Italians on vacation here!!!

Birthday dinner celebration for me and my brother in law. First time at this quaint restaurant. From the moment we walked in we were greeted very friendly. The gentleman that greeted us in Italian was so nice when I told him to speak slower in Italian so I can understand him since I’m not Italian that well. He said ok and where are you from, I told him I was Dominican he he said I knew it lol. When we left I said good night and thank you in Italian He made a point to get up from his tables he was having his dinner and thank us for visiting. Great services I recommend this restaurant. Great birthday dinner. I will be back. Ciao! Thank you to my brother in law for dinner always good time

Nice place, good food, excellent service. We were 5 people and a baby, serving team was very friendly, thoughtful and understanding.

It’s not the best Pizza that I had in my life, but worth to spend $20-$25 for each pie. We will definitely go again. You also might want to ask server to go easy on salt.

Bread: 10/10
Olive Oil: 10/10
Calamari Fritti: 5/10
Pomodorini Salad: 10/10
Insalata Di Polpo: 7/10
Spaghetti Al Pomodoro: 10/10
Squid Ink Linguini: 6/10
4 Formaggi Pizza: 2/10 (We were definitely not smoked mozzarella people. The manager asked for our experience and when we told that this Pizza was terrible, he took it out off the tab- which was also nice)
Pizza Burrata: 8/10
Pizza Tartufata: 10/10
Pizza Porcini 10/10 (Please put a little more mushroom)

Thank you!

Song E Napoli in Rutherford is an absolute gem. I live in Jersey City and make the drive there a few times a month simply because it is so delicious and welcoming. I am not Italian, but my Italian friends introduced this place to me and I am grateful to have a go to authentic Italian restaurant in New Jersey.

The staff is hospitable and caring, and the food is amazing; it’s no surprise that they have become popular in such a short span of time. Understandably, in a small, adorable, and traditional-looking place, they can only accommodate a limited number of people at once to ensure every customer leaves fed, happy and satisfied without feeling rushed. It is disappointing to see some reviews here that took the effort not to appreciate the value this place brings to Rutherford and NJ but instead complain about the limited time they have with their reservations during peak hours. Honestly, this validates how wonderful and popular this place is.
Hands down, this is an authentic Italian place managed by genuine, hospitable and welcoming people. Huge shoutout to Omar and the entire staff who embody the values this place holds, always with a smile on their face.
A special mention: I visit with family members who have dairy and nut allergies, and everyone is fed inclusively from starters to mains to dessert. They always make something safe and delicious for all of us.
If you are looking for authentic Italian food that leaves you satisfied and welcomed, this is your go-to place, like it has been mine. 10/10 recommend

We came in for a date night without a reservation (please make a reservation) and they were incredibly accommodating to let us dine quickly before another reservation came in. We had about an hour to eat but we only took 30; the service was quick, and every staff was incredibly kind and courteous. They even urged us to stay for some dessert of coffee which made us not feel rushed at all, but we were stuffed from the amazing pizza! It is fresh, and not overly indulgent to where you feel bloated after eating. Highly recommend the Salsicce e frisrielli!!

Second time here, just as good as the first time. First time we came we got pizza, this time we opted for pasta and it was delicious. Service is very friendly and food is great. It was our anniversary and our limoncello shots were on the house. The food is just as good as being back in Italy.

Really enjoyed eating at this restaurant. Rutherford closed down the street in front of the restaurant so we ate outside on a beautiful day which was very nice.

The burrata was EXCELLENT! Probably the best I’ve had. The entrees were good. I had the pizza and thought it was okay, the undercarriage was completely floppy, which I’m not a fan of, so I had to use my fork and knife to eat it. The toppings were good and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. The pizza crust was great. The dessert was also excellent. I’ll definitely be back!

It’s winter time and cold, one of the best times to crave a hot pizza. Here, during my first time, I ordered several items. The margherita was the real test. The wetness of the tomato and mozzarella with fluffy thin dough that is airy and aromatic. Chefs kiss, this is what I’ve tasted in Napoli pizzerias. Confirmed from the source, everyone needs to visit to try their authentic flavor.

Buffalo Mozzerella. Ah, so good. For anyone that hasn’t tried mozzarella made from Buffalo milk, you can trust this place to serve some. Richer and creamier, it’s nice to munch on. Their bread and olive oil that is complimentary, perfect soak up action match made in heaven.

Grilled Octopus special. Any octopus lover will be in for a treat. Served hot, crispy onions pair well with a tender octopus (great cooking yielded amazing texture) and sweet squash mashed to enhance flavor.

A definite and . It’s worth going back.
