80% of this review is N/A. I ordered the fried chicken, french fries, and peach crisp. We used to order from here at least once a week. I guess they have a new cook. Chicken and coating was bland. Zero taste, and it was a small piece. All 9 french fries were ice cold. The peach crisp saved this from being a 1 across the board. Please go back to the cook you had in 2022.

Family owned restaurant with a variety of options on the menu. Our group of 14 chose to eat here and I didn’t hear one complaint about the food. The fried oysters were said to be very good as well as the prime rib. Hubby and I had the meat and 3. Fried chicken breast was good, country fried steak and mashed potatoes were good also. The best was their squash casserole! I wasn’t expecting much but was surprised at how good it was! I’d go back just for that! We chose the fruit crisp fir dessert and were surprised at the large portion.

I really enjoyed my dinner at Sommer’s Place. The price is very reasonable, I ordered dinner for three adults and a child plus an appetizer for less than $55 before tip. I ordered the meatloaf and three sides and my wife ordered the pork chop with three sides. I ate every bite. My wife didn’t complain but had some small critiques. Location isn’t bad but the details and decor feel small town. Server was attentive and not pushy. I would definitely come again

My family has gone here for years & it’s delicious. We always get crab claws. I usually get a salad with French onion soup and it fills me up. All of their food is pretty good. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly.

I wasn’t expecting this place to be anything special, but I was surprised! I ordered the grilled pork tenderloin with a sweet potato. It was a simple, yummy dish. My friend ordered the fried pork chop with mashed potatoes and fried okra! Her dish was amazing. The pork chop was beautifully breaded. I wanted to eat her food too! The customer service could have been better, but our server was likely just overwhelmed by our large party. It’s a must-visit spot.

The food was GREAT…thank you kitchen staff…the service was AWFUL..my waitress was rushy and showed prejudicy toward me. my granddaughter and the table right beside me. She made the atmosphere VERY unpleasant. I gave a three star only because the cooks did an AMAZING job.

We haven’t been to Sommer’s Place since before the pandemic. They have a very extensive menu, way too big for all the selections to be homemade each day. I ordered the Crumb Chicken, fried green tomatoes, & squash casserole. Server warned us about hot plates. Obviously the food was cold & heated on the plates because the food itself was definitely not hot. As I took a bite of chicken, the casserole was actually congealed & jelly-like because it was still cold! Gross at best. The tomatoes were barely beige, not golden brown as they should be. Don’t know where the squash pieces were in squash casserole–I found the onions & cheddar cheese & a white goop that was unidentifiable. My husband’s salad tasted like old lettuce & contained black pieces of iceberg. The salad dressing was tasty. Cornbread was bland & not crispy or well baked. Overall, meal was a disappointment of pre-prepared food, poorly heated up.
