Went for the first time with my family! There were 6 of us. We got there early, so no waiting. Loved the atmosphere and decor. The tables are beautiful. Also love the mismatched dishes!!
My mother and I both ordered the brussel sprouts ceaser and mushroom toast! Both fabulous! My dad had the croque madam! He enjoyed it. My son and brother had the cheeseburger which was a great smash burger! Husband had the shrimp pasta. So fresh tasting! Will definitely be back!

An amazing meal in a beautifully renovated building! We ordered two starters – cornbread served with sorghum butter and pommes dauphine (fried potato puffs) served with calabrian chili aioli. Both were wonderful, but the sorghum butter is the best I’ve ever had. For the main dish, my husband had the mushroom ragu, my daughter had the cheeseburger, and I had the beet salad (which was technically on the starter menu). Each dish included locally sourced ingredients prepared to perfection. I also highly recommend the hibiscus lemonade. The restaurant is almost an hour from our home, and we will definitely return!

Had been wanting to try Solidago since they opened and finally got the chance to go. Hard because of their hours, but that’s understandable. The place itself is beautifully decorated and the building is historical–very cool.
Overall, the food was fine. There were only two non-red-meat options available: a salad and white beans. I got the white beans (pictured) and they were tasty. They could have had more flavor but the quantity and the presentation was there. My friend got a cheeseburger that they said was fine but not outstanding (and not as good as some other local restaurants). We got milkshakes to go. They use Mad Scoops ice cream which is normally good. The milkshake was just wayyy too milky, like there was barely ice cream at all. I chose the coffee flavor and the shake was light brown but it wasn’t even sweet and had no taste of coffee.
Probably won’t be back soon but hope they do well, there is a lot of promise.

Wonderful small restaurant in
Paint Lick, Kentucky. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious. Outside the restaurant is a Monarch Butterfly Garden. Other Butterflies and bees liked it, too.

Off the beaten path and worth the drive. Quiet town of Paintlick. Staff is wonderful. Nice range in food selections and prices from steaks (the best I’ve ever tasted) to burgers. The cornbread with sorghum butter was amazing. They don’t have their liquor license but will soon. Beautiful, historic building. No tipping establishment.

This is a fabulous restaurant, and the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is the incredible amount of salt the chef put in our food. I’d heard this complaint from every friend who recommended we go to Solidago (four of them), but I forgot to say “no salt” when we ordered.
The presentation was gorgeous. The food was delightful but we barely got through it because of the salt. (Actually, it was so good that we ate it despite the salt.)
“Why didn’t you send it back?” you may ask. I’m not sure. Perhaps because it was the start of lunch and there was already quite a crowd. Perhaps because we’d been warned and should have asked for no salt. But the restaurant itself is definitely worth a five, if they’d correct this.
(In fact, even two of the local people we spoke with laughed and said we should have ordered it without salt.)
I can’t imagine why this incredibly gifted chef would pour so much salt onto everything, unless he or she can’t taste the difference.
We look forward to going back, but will remember this time!

Had a chance to eat here with my son today. I got a cheeseburger and my son ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. We both shared some of their sweet tea.

The restaurant itself was decorated beautifully, filled with rustic, historic memorabilia.

The food and service was amazing. I highly recommend trying this place out.

Had the Pappardelle noodle dish with mushrooms & pork ragu and it was delicious and perfectly balanced! Possibly the best pasta dish I’ve ever had in Kentucky. The oysters were also tasty. Love that they are a tip free restaurant. Will definitely be back!
