Amazing dinner tonight! The Fried Deviled Eggs are just incredible! The Gumbo is fantastic. The Cucumber Vodka Blueberry drink is delish and unique. My kids loved their grilled cheese and chicken fingers (so did I!) And they off apples with incredible caramel dip. The desserts were also great!

Nice restaurant with live jazz on this Thursday evening. So disappointed they were out of boudin thus the 4 stars rating. Deviled eggs were great, small oysters were very good, larger ones just a little on the tough side as was the fried gator. The red beans with catfish was outstanding. The blueberry freshness drink was delicious. Nice staff. Quick service.

Listen People, if you want true New Orleans food right here in KC and the best New Orleans fried chicken ever……get here. Chef Anita is killing it. this was our first trip and I cannot believe you not been here sooner. They’re open up a New Orleans Steak & Oyster House soon. Worth the drive North and cool vibe What a fantastic treat right here in KC. Clearly the owners care and keep this place in tip top shape. The live music on some nights and drink specials every night are excellent. Exceptional service, food and vibe that also works for families with younger kids.

Went with some friends for sunday brunch, everything was delicious. We had wings and New Orleans chicken, with Brussels sprouts, greens, and dirty rice. The wife had 2 of their house bloody marys which are garnished to the max in true New Orleans style with okra, bacon, and a fried green tomato!

Great tasting Louisiana food all the way in Smithville, MO… say it ain’t so. I personally couldn’t wait to get here. The Bistro is tucked off in a nice clean place of the highway and has a great presence inside and out. I was met by the awesome hostess as well as the sound of Otis Rush upon entering. The food was great I started off with the Gumbo Fries as an appetizer, which consisted of fresh potatoes topped with gumbo each ingredient holds its ground and they work very well with one another. The Chef is definitely a BEAST at what she does, and she even paid me a visit. She is very gracious and humble. For the main I went with the shrimp and grits, and I was not disappointed. Find this place ASAP!!

Food was beyond my expectations. Every table was full so service was a little slow but still very enjoyable. The Cajun margarita was delicious. They had live music when I went, I believe its a band that plays there frequently but they seemed to be taking a break more than playing music which was too bad cause they were really good.

The service was professional, quick, and friendly. The food was delicious and quick to come out. Prices were higher than expected. A can of beer was $7.00. Its not a royals game….a can of beer should not cost $7.00. On the whole the food was great.

Scratch made food with a lot of flavor and a lot of love.
All I can say is “Oh My”.
This morning I was on Facebook when a picture showed up in my newsfeed. It was a picture of a soft-shell crab sandwich that was being served at Soiree in Smithville and it said get them before they’re gone. So, I shared the picture to this forum and started counting the hours ‘till evening.
After stopping at the credit union to replenish my coin, I point my RAV4 north on 169 Hiway. Arriving, I exit my car, hoping and praying there is at least one soft-shell left. It didn’t take long to find out that I was in luck. So, I order a beer and a sandwich and a side of hush puppies, and I sit back and wait. In a few minutes’, nirvana is upon me.
Chef Anita took a fresh roll, toasted it, piled on some colorful lettuce, a slice of tomato, what I think were pickled onions and cucumbers, topped that with Mr. Crab, slathered a thick tasty sauce on the lid of the bun, and then stuck a pin in it to hold it altogether.
Popping a puppy into my mouth and taking a swig of beer, I plan my attack. Breaking off some of the legs, so I don’t poke an eye out, I pick it up and take a bite. The flavors and textures were amazing. First came the softness of the bread and the creaminess of the sauce, there was a hint of avocado in that sauce (or so I think), then simultaneously the crunch of the crab and a snap of the lettuce. That was followed by the sweetness of the tomato and the sharp bite of the pickled veggies. I would describe this crab as overweight, or should I say thick and meaty!
Needless to say, it was a great meal!
Well Done Chef Anita And Soiree!
Well Done Indeed!

The only reason this place isn’t a 5 star review is the service. The service here is terrible. Its painfully slow. I have walked out because I waited for more than 15 minutes for someone to come take my order. On my most recent trip, the party at the adjacent table walked out because they never came back to take their order after delivering drinks. The food is absolutely delish, if you can get someone to take your order. I don’t know how this place has as good of reviews as it does. The service sucks and I’ve seen the service suck for other patrons.
Pic included to prove this review is from someone who has actually ate here.
