Reviews
We ordered 2 types of empanadas or empanadillas, chicken and chorizo and plantain. Both were really good. The shell was nice and crispy. We also ordered mofongo with chicken chunks, it was really delicious. And the trifongo (which isn’t on the menu but they made it at my request), with camarones en salsa de ajillo or garlic sauce. These mofongos were my motivation to write this review. Hands down the best mofongo we’ve had in 7 years living in the area. The garlic sauce is fantastic. The reason I’m giving the food 4 ⭐️ is because my shrimp was a bit salty. But everything else was great! We had an awesome server too who knew the menu well and was super kind.
They serve cuisine from Puerto Rico, and it is good . I had the Cuban sandwich, and for dessert I had coconut Flan.
I had fried Plantains for the first time, and they were good! It was totally different as I am used to getting fries with lunch. Try them!
It is handicap accessible, as is parking ️.
The service was very nice and friendly.
I got the Classic Pernil (slow roasted pork) sandwich. So good, definitely transported me to Puerto Rico.
Great atmosphere and service too!
First impressions were it certainly has a small PR restaurant vibe and decor. The menu has a decent amount of items on it but I had already decided what I wanted to eat before making the drive. I love steak, and more specifically I love Churrasco, so I decided Churrasco was the one thing I had to try. Unfortunately with my luck they didn’t have it that day so I pivoted and decided to try their Pernil Mofongo with garlic butter sauce and I grabbed their “pick 4 sampler” to start things off.
For the Sampler we did the Beef and Cheese Empanadas, Tostones, Fried Chuletas, and they surprised us with Alcapurrias (asked that they pick the 4th). The empanadas were okay, I have certainly had better but they weren’t bad. The chuletas were good, crispy but still tender. The Tostones were pretty good also (I’m not a big Tostone person but I enjoyed them). The Alcapurrias were my favorite part of the meal. It was my first time trying them and I wish I had done so sooner.
My Pernil Mofongo was okay. The Pernil was soft and juicy. The mofongo itself left more to be desired, to me it was too dry. The garlic butter was was very heavy but not had.
I was really hoping for some mojitos or something on the menu but I settled for some Kola champagne and it brought me back to childhood.
Overall it was a nice experience but the food left more to be desired IMO.
