My boyfriend and I had a fabulous evening. This was a Christmas present from him to me for a romantics night out – it did not disappoint. 5 courses – Squash harvest soup with fresh baked rolls, cheese & cherry ravioli, lobster tail salad, roasted duck and a baked Alaska. The food was heavenly. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and informative. The private tour of the estate elevated the experience; such rich history there! It was an evening I will never forget.

La Locanda Del Cavallo
If you’re looking for a true fine dining experience in the Lehigh Valley, you need to try La Locanda Del Cavallo.
From the moment we sat down, it was clear this wasn’t just dinner — it was an experience.
The bread alone was award-winning quality. The squash harvest soup was absolutely amazing — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. It was a five-course meal, and every course delivered. The cheese and cherry ravioli was an incredible sweet-and-savory combination that had me savoring every bite. The roasted duck had unique, complex flavors and was definitely delicious. I also tried a bit of the shrimp — even though I passed most of it off — and it was excellent. And dessert? I don’t even know exactly what it was, but it was outstanding.
What really sets this place apart is the full experience. We were given a tour of the property and learned about the incredible history of the building. Barry, our waiter and tour guide, was absolutely incredible — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the restaurant. The private tour and the information he shared made the night even more special.
We also had the privilege of meeting the owner and chef, Brondo. He was a pleasure to meet — very cool guy and an exceptional chef.
Everything about La Locanda Del Cavallo is on point: Great service

From the moment you walk in, it’s a wonderful experience. The chef greets you with a big smile. While you wait for your food, you have a tour to enjoy European culture. It’s perfect. Each dish is a masterpiece, from the appetizer to the main course. Walking through the Venetian-style gardens is magnificent. The stables are beautiful. The experience is worth living. It’s a part of Europe in the city, and you’re sure to create beautiful memories.

This is a very unique dining experience. We enjoyed 6 courses over a 4 hour time span. The whole atmosphere is so unique and unlike anything you have seen before! All the food is absolutely delicious and perfect! This is a great place for 2 for a romantic evening or for a large group to enjoy. Your courses are fixed so if you are a picky eater, this might not be the place for you.

Honestly, a very odd experience. We had fun, but I wouldn’t return for the food. This doesn’t really feel like a restaurant, it feels like a wedding venue that serves food on other days. The menu didn’t make any sense (not that there is a menu). The French onion soup was nice and beefy, but no cheese or croutons which is an odd choice. The rolls were quite dense, which is a shame because the website talks about how the chef’s mom made bread so good James Beard would rave about it. The “sampler course” honestly felt like leftovers from a wedding: a random shrimp, a stuffed mushroom, a deviled egg, a piece of beet. We had the osso bucco and the duck. The osso bucco was well cooked, but the sides were bizarre: a piece of carrot, a piece of parsnip, cinnamon apples? Nothing to soak up the osso bucco sauce. The duck was dry and overcooked. The souffle was excellent, the espresso was bad and tasted like it was made stovetop in a moka pot. Finally, it took 4 hours, which is just way too long for 5 courses. Overall, everyone there was very nice and the space is beautiful, it’s just not somewhere I’ll be rushing back to. At this price point ($175 a person), they could at least have a menu that is thought out.

Such a magical experience. The food is of another caliber and the ambiance is dream like and surreal. The chef, Brando is such a sweetheart and genuinely a good person who enjoys life. Him and his mother have brought a piece of heaven to earth.
