Excellent new restaurant in Woodley Park – a must visit! Along with homemade pita and dips for appetizers, we ordered the Sofra Beyti (tender ground beef with spices wrapped in lavash bread) and chicken soulvaki. The Turkish tea and pistachio baklava was dessert—the flaky pastry knocked it out of the park. Thrilled to have Sofra in the neighborhood and will be back.

Everything was amazing. An authentic Turkish and Greek restaurant where you can enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner in a clean and comfortable atmosphere with your family, spouse, or friends. They add their own special touch to the well-known traditional flavors — and that truly makes the difference.

Their falafels were genuinely some of the best I’ve had. They were delightfully crunchy, tasty, and came with silky, rich hummus and caramelized onions. The pita bread was soft on the inside but crunchy on the outside — just perfect!
The grill was also really good, but was not on the same level as the falafels. Regardless, we had a great experience at Sofra! Highly recommended

My new favorite spot! It’s more than just a meal — it’s an experience. Kenan is a great chef and truly passionate about what he does, and it shows. He’s created something special here. The food at Sofra was fresh and full of flavor, with a lot of delicious Mediterranean dishes to enjoy. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. We were even offered complimentary Turkish tea, which was a really nice touch. Solid portions, fair prices, and an overall great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back.

So happy to have found Sofra!
The food was amazing, the lavender cocktail was the best drink I’ve had in a long time and the space is absolutely beautiful and homie. I’ve had it for lunch, dinner and takeout and they were all delicious, highly recommended!

This is the best food I have had in DC yet. It was so good and I had such a great time. The music really set the mood and get the lamb!

Found this place on a whim.
Was pleasantly surprised at how phenomenal everything was.
From the server going out of his way to make you feel at home, the entrancing music and the wonderful portion sizes (I actually had to take home leftovers !).
We were also lucky enough to be given free appetisers, which was a nice touch.
Would recommend this to everyone wanting a quick and delicious meal.
Only con was the 20% included service charge on the bill, but did not matter enough for me as the meal was affordable.

The food did not match what was shown in their Yelp and Google reviews. The yaglama was served with only five pieces, even though the owner’s posted photo clearly shows eight pieces.
The mixed grill was very disappointing. In the owner’s posted photo, the plate includes lamb chops, but none were served to us. Additionally, the rice was undercooked and contained raw grains.
The dining area was also quite cold, which made the experience uncomfortable. The tea was good; however, due to the overall food experience, we chose not to try the desserts.

I went to a restaurant called Sofra, and the food was clearly burnt. We had traveled a long distance, so we were forced to eat anyway. We did complain, and I can say the staff were polite and understanding. However, the food was by far the worst, most burnt, and lowest-quality meal I have ever eaten in the United States. I went with my spouse and friends, and we will never return. I absolutely do not recommend this place.
