When my husband pulled into an old gas station for lunch, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. But wow, I’m so glad he did! The food here is fantastic. I have a deep love of al pastor tacos and Sofia’s did not disappoint. The whole restaurant was being operated by two very capable, welcoming women and I can’t wait to visit them again. In short—venture into the well-worn former diner and get ready for one great meal.

This place is clean and the staff is very pleasant. I’m not giving a 3 star to sound too negative…. it’s just that I live in Texas and the food here doesn’t come close to what I’m use to. If you have Midwest taste buds you’ll like this place. So by all means check them out. Me I find the food to be lacking in spice and flavor. I’m just telling you my opinion. If you’re use to true Tex Mex from the south you will be a bit disappointed.

Delicious Mexican food conveniently located in Marengo. Was a great quick bite. Delicious tacos and burritos is what we had. Even had horchata! Good service that even came with a delicious bowl of soup. Family owned and just a great experience, especially while on the road. Bathrooms were clean as well. 🙂
