Delicious white fish sandwiches! We also enjoyed the Italian Fries, which in comparison are kind of like thin crust, topper sticks.
Their gift shop was extensive and all of the staff were super nice. Great place to stop for local eats if you’re coming from out of town.

We read the reviews and were a little nervous since we experienced the locals getting preferential treatment a couple of days ago but this was NOT the case here. They were very friendly, talked with us multiple times and took the time to explain the beers on tap. We got in line, ordered and sat at a table. They were super busy! The young lady who took our order came up after we sat down with our drinks and said she forgot to tell us they were really backed up. We shrugged and went with it. Less than 30 minutes our food came out. She came over as our drinks were getting low and asked if we wanted another round, of course. Food came out, delicious. Burger and supreme pizza. We did not experience the not local negative stuff like someone posted. We will return when we are in the area. Thank you all!

Excellent service, they were super busy, I mean swamped. The servers were so friendly and nice, despite being crazy busy. My son and I ordered some breadsticks and 2 large pizzas, meat lovers and supreme, and they were delicious, and filling. We ended up taking half of each pizza home. I would definitely stop here again.

We drive over an hour just to eat here, it’s that good. Originally from the UP and now living in Minnesota, whenever we’re at our place on Lake Gogebic and craving truly delicious, fresh food, The Outpost is our go to.

The pizza is an absolute must. And Thursday lasagna? My husband just tried it and said it’s to die for. Every dish tastes homemade, authentic, and made with pride.

This family has been serving authentic Italian comfort food for over 30 years, and for the past five years the two granddaughters have carried on that legacy beautifully. When we stopped in this week, we had the chance to chat with Toni-Lynn. Hearing the history of her grandpa, the original roots of Antonio’s, (he used to own the one in Bergland, Mi however that is now run by someone else, not related to this family) and her uncle who now runs Antonio’s in Iron Mountain made the experience even more special. The pride in her voice and the twinkle in her eye says everything you need to know about the heart behind this place.

She told us her uncle’s pasties are the best around and if they’re anything like the lasagna and pizza, we’ll definitely be making that drive too.

It can be tough to find truly great food in that area, especially places that take genuine pride in what they serve. The Outpost delivers every time. I’m a repeat offender at Porkies, and this is always part of the tradition.

Stop in and see for yourself — you won’t regret it.

I would have uploaded pictures but I ate all my food and then thought about a review afterwards. Btw – grab yourself a brownie to go. It’s the perfect late night treat with a big glass of milk. Enjoy!

Honestly, super surprised at all these “good” reviews. I couldn’t find a menu online so when we got there we had to decide what we wanted standing at the cash register. Awkward, when they only have pizza and burgers. Figured that out, paid, and sat down. Then proceeded to wait for EVER for our two pizzas. We did get breadsticks, but they tasted microwaved. Not a good start. Then the pizza came out, and it was hard as a rock and tasted like school cafeteria pizza at best. I hate leaving bad reviews, I don’t think I ever have left a one star, but this is not good. It was cheese/toppings on a cracker like crust. Not a clue why making the two pizzas we ordered took over an hour, when we were literally one of the only people in there. The homemade brownies were good though. Convenient to the hiking and all, but that was the only visit we had there.

Great pizza and a large gift shop that makes a great stop to refuel after hiking. Outdoor seating for pets too.

Excellent service. Food tasted good and came out fast. Soda refills allowed. Highly recommend the hamburgers and pizzas. Portions are very generous and you will be more than satisfied! You can also find general store items and gifts in the other half of the establishment. There is a public beach with access to the lake across their parking lot.
