Perfect date night spot, the live music, and the upscale interiors set the tone! Tuna tartare and Greek salad were tasty. We got the beef skirt and the short rib ossobuco. Ossobuco was a bit too salty but the steak was perfect! Service was professional and we got a shot of grappa to celebrate my partners birthday!

It’s our first time in Costa Rica and a friend recommended the Sofia Mediterraneo Tamarindo
restaurant and it was on point. The atmosphere was prefect and the service was great. Kathy our server was very friendly and made sure everything was tasting to our liking. We definitely recommend Sofia Mediterraneo Tamarindo for a nice evening out.

TOP NOTCH RESTAURANT FOR EVERYONE
We really enjoyed our dinner at Sofia. The magic started when the executive chef Mehmet came to our table to describe the menu of the day and the other a la carte items that piqued our interest. The menu can suit anyone’s dietary requirements. Marianne the sommelier helped us find the perfect wine pairing. We feasted on a chilled Kefir yogourt soup, a grilled mushroom & vegetable salad, lamb shoulder & flank steak. I could go on and on about all the delicious flavours & tenderness of the meats but in order to be brief I’ll only say that we were not disappointed. We highly recommend Sofia. We came back the next day and had brunch at their equally amazing sister restaurant next door, Pandeli.

We had an above-and-beyond experience here from start to finish. The food was outstanding, and the service was truly exceptional. The chef personally came to our table to walk us through each dish, which made the experience feel incredibly special. Dinia took care of our group of 10 adults and 2 babies with remarkable attention and warmth—she learned all of our names and even brought games to keep our nine-month-old happily entertained at the table. She is, without question, the best server we’ve ever had. This was an unforgettable dining experience for our entire family, and if we could give more than five stars, we absolutely would.

Sofia’s was the best meal we had in Costa Rica. So much so we went twice last week. Fantastic food. Wonderful hosts welcomed us as if to their home. Ivan was our camarero, he was excellent. Mehmet the executive chef was very hands on with all food prep. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. When we visit again this place is number one on our list. Skirt steak, the eggplant dish, hummus everything was perfect. thank you all.

Great experience! Mediterranean cuisine with influence from several countries and their respective dishes. Cozy, comfy and chic design, fantastic service. Both the Hostess and the Waiter were both very attentive and polite. The owner, Mehmet, is very friendly, and makes you feel right at home.
We began with cocktails – a top notch Martini!
For dinner, we first ordered the Meze platter, full of Turkish and Mediterranean cold starters, each one more delicious and flavorful than the other, accompanied by homemade bread.
Next, we ordered a seafood platter consisting of grilled swordfish steak, jumbo shrimp, squid, and mussels, accompanied by grilled veggies. Truly scrumptious!
Highly recommended for all those out there, who truly love good food!

The wait was well worth it. We started with a Greek salad which had excellent taste with authentic feta and olive oil. For entrees we had the raviolis, lamb shank and sea bass. The wife loved the lamb and the sea bass was delicious. Not the biggest fan of the raviolis, but overall still tasted great. We will be back!

Delicious! The Mediterranean sampler platter was tasty and served with hot pita bread. The mixed seafood was ample and a nice variety. The mussels and fish were cooked a little well done, but the rest was perfect. Chocolate mousse cake was complimentary for my birthday (best dessert this trip!) plus the lemon cello was a nice complimentary finish as well.
