Service was super friendly, I wish I’d gotten the young woman’s name so I could credit her, but she was quick with a smile, looked at you instead of her notepad when you ordered, attentive and her cheerfulness was contagious, like family.
Nice wine selection, and the menu offered a good amount of choice while still keeping it small. I had the pesto, wish I had the chance to try the ricotta I saw them preparing in front of me. Cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was amazing, practically licked my plate.
I was talked into the tiramisu, homemade of course. It was delicious, just a note of warning, don’t inhale when taking a bite or you’ll get chocolate powder in your lungs and a coughing fit.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back next time I’m in NOLA.
We split a pizza called The Spicy ($24) which was absolutely great. We almost got the marghareta and I wish we would have since the crust and cheese were perfect it really didn’t even need any toppings. We wanted a protein so split the short rib pasta ($30) which we were a little less than impressed with. Again, the noodles were excellent but the dish just seemed to be a saucy mess overall.
Didn’t love the unexpected 4% kitchen appreciation fee on my check but I will say the service was good and I’d come back here regardless.
We absolutely love starting with the Insalata Mixta — it’s always fresh, crisp, and flavorful. Their pasta selection is fantastic, and you can tell everything is made with care and quality ingredients. And of course, their artisan-style pizzas are a must. The Margherita is perfectly classic, but our personal favorite is the Picante Pizza — it’s bold, flavorful, and has just the right kick!
The vibe inside is stylish yet comfortable, with great music and a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Whether it’s date night or dinner with friends, Sofia never disappoints. We always leave happy and already planning our next visit.
Highly recommend Sofia to anyone looking for delicious Italian-inspired food right in the heart of New Orleans!
The chill vibe and smell of the wood pizza oven made this a great meal.
Pictured is the whipped ricotta which was delicious.
