When you walk in, the esthetic in here is awesome. Plants, books and just the all around look is great. I assume to owner took my order and he was a great guy. Very likable, very nice and super knowledgeable on everything!
I decided to go with the classic Margherita pizza. When it came out the oven, it looked and smelled incredible. The crust had that crunch and char you look for in a wood fire pizza. Absolutely perfect. The size is perfect for one person. Amazing its only $15!
This is a MUST TRY pizza place in tbe Durham area!
The owner is a joy. Welcoming and funny. You are instantly at home. The soundtrack is low key Euro trance. All together a great place for a meal, a conversation, a date, anything.
10/5- ish: I did another review from another account, but, this place is worth 2 reviews!!! You absolutely must come here if you love pizza. Hands down. We got a margarita pizza and an esper pizza and there was no disappointment. The pizza crust was absolutely perfect, crunchy and flavorful. The pizza itself was amazing. Of the flavors blended amazingly together, nothing stood out, and it was kind of like coming home. Love giving their patrons knowledge and you can definitely feel that when you talk to them. Food is very reasonably priced, you can literally come here once or twice a week and feed you and your family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting on one end. The other end of the restaurant feels like a diner and I love both spots! For you beer lovers, they are actually going to open up a beer spot in the space behind the restaurant and have a beer garden! I am definitely coming back for that!!
Hope to come back soon to try one of their entrees/coal fired pizzas as well.
I was not disappointed, far from it! I used to manage the kitchen of a coal-fired pizzeria, and this place makes better pizzas than my kitchen ever could. They use quality ingredients and make everything in-house. And the atmosphere is absolutely delightful! This is now one of my go-to places. If you haven’t tried coal-fired pizza, or if you’re just looking for a nice place to get dinner, do yourself a favor and come here.
11/7 This is week four? Or week five? I don’t know. I’ve lost track. We’ve been here every week since I’ve opened and the food quality has continued to be exceptional. We absolutely love coming here for our date nights on Fridays or any other time during the week. They are closed Saturdays and Sundays. So if you’re looking for a great night to go out for a date, make sure it’s any other night. Giuseppe and Kelly are fantastic hosts and the crew that is doing the exceptional Pizza making is behind the counter. They can certainly keep up with big demands and they don’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a romantic or relaxed place, definitely come here. It’s very intimate and quiet and it has good music. We absolutely love coming here and just talking with everyone and seeing how their week has been. You can certainly tell that everybody here loves what they do. If you have a special request with pizza, their goal is to make it come true!
Update again: 10/17/25 we have come here for the third… Maybe fourth time in 2 weeks? That’s a record! Tonight we got a Semplice (without the arugula)- which is an outta this world Garlic White pizza, and a Della Terra round (Ortalana- if coal fired), and a pizza with red sauce/fresh mozzarella/ and homemade sausage. All wonderful choices! They all have fantastic flavors, crusts, cheese, but… I can taste the love that’s put into it. THAT makes all the difference!
10/10/25: After an amazing time here 3 days ago, we wanted to come back as soon as possible. Absolutely a great idea! This time my partner enjoyed an Italian “Brucculinu” (sandwich)– which was “really freaking good”. He didn’t get the banana peppers though, he got the Giardinera (mixed veggies toppings-better and more flavor!). I got the Roberta’s pizza- with hot honey and bee pollen. It didn’t disappoint. We also sampled the Sfincione Palmeritana. What’s that you ask? Have you heard of the Corleone pizza in NJ? Sally Slices to the Moon? These guys personally know each other. Societa’s is better! We don’t have to go to New Jersey! Their crust has more flavor, is softer and crunchier!
10/7/25We were able to enjoy a margarita pizza, and yes it was correctly made, and an Esper pizza. ” What in the world is that?” You may ask! What is it? Moorish beef meatball, and ricotta, blistered tomatoes, garlic and basil. Everything meshes together perfectly on that pizza, nothing stands out as a single ingredient, but it is absolutely enjoyable! All of the prices are extremely reasonable. If you would like to learn a little bit about pizza, I highly recommend you talk to the owners. They are extremely knowledgeable. They take amazing pride in their work and they are willing to help people understand why their Pizza is different. But in my personal opinion it is literally better than anyone around!!
