I was very disappointed on the food portion! $7.00 for this tiny taco. first time being there,
hardly any cabbage, and I ate this in 2 bites.
the guy who took my order, he’s nice, but when I asked, is the taco a street taco? he said, was bigger, WRONG! Would of been my choice of not ordering. but I gave benifit of the doubt.
I will not go again. California wouldn’t never serve such a taco. SHAMEFUL RESTAURANT

Every year we pick up oysters to make a romantic Christmas Eve dinner and this year we came back. We love the food and the family that owns the restaurant. They are so helpful! And the food is very good!

Nothing fishy tasting about this place, everything is fresh and clean tasting! Cod tacos were moist and tender, battered mahi tacos were crisp, and shrimp salad was simple with a flavorful dressing. Menu is full of variety for fun food and drinks for such a small place. Servers were very attentive. We ate inside as it’s still hot outside, although there were several tables with people eating under the misters on the patio outside. Large shared parking lot in back with ample parking and restrooms are nicely decorated and clean. This place will be crazy busy when the weather cools down!

Delicious fish tacos! Grabbed some delicious fish tacos and a kids burrito and it’s amazing! The owner was in and he was so friendly and helpful with my order. I can’t wait to come back and try more tacos and some margs. Outback is definitely a vibe too!

Found this place while looking for a place to take a dinner break. It’s conveniently located in the downtown area of Gilbert and has plenty of parking in back and around the corner. It’s a clean and well kept establishment with a laid back surfer atmosphere and decor. I ordered the Blackened Grouper Tacos and came back for more to try the Beer Battered Mahi Tacos. Both were excellently prepared and very tasty. The grouper was moist and tender while the mahi had a nice crisp battered coating and was also moist and tender inside. There is inside seating, an outside patio and windows for your ordering and pick up facing the street. The service by the waitstaff was fast and friendly. They also have the Taco Tuesday specials with even cheaper prices. If you’re a fan of fish tacos or fish and chips like I am this place is awesome and reasonably priced, plus they also have shrimp and lobster tacos.

The food was bad and the service was worse. If you want to hear the staff talk their experience with roofies or making fun of of how their togo customers sound on the phone while you wait for your order, this is the place for you. Doesn’t seem to be any management to watch over the kids. The food is not good either.
UPDATE: 30 minutes later my stomach is rumbling and in knots. Going to be a long night… Stay away from this place!

Had a good dinner here tonight. First time here for dinner, and it had been a couple years since I was here for lunch one day. When you walk in, it feels like you are suppose to wait to be seated, but we waited and no one came. Apparently you seat yourself.
They seemed short staffed.
However, the food was really good and the atmosphere was awesome.
I’ll definitely give them another try in the future.

Dinner was great. For a Family of 6 you’re looking at $65-$75 ( nice loaded tacos with rice and beans sides. )
We had Quesadillas for kids. Cheese is really good. They go heavy on cheese just like we like them.
Beer Battered Mahi tacos are delicious. I really recommend these. The fish is perfectly cooked crispy on the outside and tender inside. No heavy oil taste like other places. The tortilla could need a bit of help and more selection of salsa but it will not break the taco. It still takes the 5 stars
Shrimp tacos are delicious. The sauce they put on them is really really good.
Overall great Baja style tacos with great food and friendly staff.

The weather was perfect over the weekend, we decided to head over to downtown Gilbert for lunch.
This was my first time to So Cal Taco and it’s not bad. Limited indoor seating the back outdoor patio seating was very appealing. They have heaters for the cooler weather and a couple TV’s.
Casual and genuine. The menu is ample providing many choices. We are here for the tacos.
Service was friendly and pretty quick however, the kitchen seemed to be on the slow side.
We ordered the;
Cod, nothing special just good.
Blackened Grouper was overdone.
Lobster the batter was very salty and took everything away from it being Lobster.
Mai the better of the four ImO…
I wish the beans and rice was a larger serving.
Price is a little on the higher side and you’d think the tacos would be on point!
Definitely will revisit to see if we can push the rating up.
