Walked in and was immediately greeted, handed a menu, and given great recommendations which is always a solid first impression. I went with the peanut butter burger they suggested, and honestly… next level. The balance of sweet and savory was unreal, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and high quality. I actually had to look around and make sure I wasn’t sitting in a gourmet restaurant.
The staff was excellent from start to finish.. friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. They even gave recommendations on other places to check out while I’m in the area, which I really appreciated. On top of that, they made sure to tell me about their happy hour deals and other specials to lure me back… and I think it’s working.
Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly impressed and will definitely be back.

We stopped into The So Long Saloon and were blown away from the very first bite. We ordered the world‑famous black bean dip, and it absolutely lives up to its name. Creamy, flavorful, and topped with that hint of raspberry, it was to die for and the perfect start to our meal.
We also sampled a variety of dishes, and every single one was top‑notch:
Fish Tacos: perfectly flaky fish with a great mix of crunch and spice.
Chef’s Grilled Cheese with Potato Salad: the bread was toasted to absolute perfection, and the whole sandwich felt elevated while still comforting.
Steak n’ Cheddar with Spicy Slaw: incredible flavor and, again, that perfectly toasted bread made it unforgettable.
The staff was friendly and attentive, and even though the space was smaller than expected, it added to the charm. The historic bar and ornate mirror gave the place so much character, we loved the atmosphere just as much as the food.
If you’re in Manhattan, KS, The So Long Saloon is absolutely worth the visit. We’ll definitely be back!

A Burger Worth the Hype!
I was craving a great burger and Googled the top burger spots in Manhattan, Kansas
So Long Saloon came highly recommended, and now I see why! The food was delicious, bleu cheese bacon burger, fries and onions rings fresh, and full of flavor. The burger absolutely lived up to the hype juicy, perfectly cooked, and stacked with just the right toppings.
The service was equally impressive. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and It’s clear they take pride in both their food and customer service.
Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu this place is definitely a new favorite!

I was visiting the city and Chatgpt recommended this place to eat and they didn’t disappoint. OMG everything was perfect! The restaurant was full on a Thursday afternoon which was a telltale sign that they are GOOD. After waiting for about 10 minutes we were seated on their tall tables and menus were presented right away. Chatgpt recommended their peanut butter burger and we ordered it along with one of their other burgers. For drinks we had their local Kansas beer which was perfect. The service was great too; the waitresses were kind and helpful and they were running around taking orders and delivering many food to the tables. The peanut butter burger was exceptionally delicious; I was not expecting the combination to be that tasty. It was so good that we visited the restaurant again the next day. This time, in addition to their peanut burger, we ordered their buffalo chicken sandwich and an appetizer (chili cheese fries). After having these I can say that everything they have on their menu tastes phenomenal. We enjoyed both of our meals there.

My best friend said this was the best burger in Kansas and I disagree, it is one of the best burgers I have ever had! Flavor thru and thru, perfect bacon, and cooked to perfection. Excellent customer service in a great atmosphere. It is small inside but does have outdoor seating. 8 hour travel day to Kansas City yet we still drove 10 miles out of our way for these burgers – well worth it and will do it again!

Extremely excellent. I waited approximately 1.25 hours to be seated… Everything was fantastic… Everyone was super nice and kind. 3 people with drinks and an appetizer for $100… Well worth it. It’s doubtful that I will ever be back in Manhattan Kansas again but if you are lucky enough to find yourself in Aggieville, don’t hesitate. It’s worth the wait!

If you’re familiar with Manhattan, you’ve at least heard of So Long. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all great.
You gotta have a Nancy, some bean dip, and ordinarily I would say the Resist Temptation, but the Hot Ham and Cheese hot the spot!

Went to try their pineapple beer, which was really great. Will have to make it at home. Must add that it’s very refreshing and a great combo.
Anyways. Small establishment but the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Not your typical bar food for some of their selections, in a good way. Though what we had were really good. The slider burger was flavorful and the taco was just as great. I would recommend stopping in.
