If I could give So French Cafe 10 stars I absolutely would. We booked a table for four here in a Saturday morning. The service was friendly and patient.
We ordered and then relaxed and watch the Chef cook everything from scratch, from the homemade bread for the French toast, the exquisitely poached pear, to the perfect eggs bene. The coffee, right strength, perfect temperature and beautiful flavour topped of our experience as complete. Thank you So French Cafe, you absolutely made our weekend.

A little slice of France with sunshine and soul

Absolutely loved the experience at So French Cafe. Sitting outdoors on a sunny day, with blue-and-white tablecloths and the buzz of the neighbourhood around you, genuinely feels like a café moment straight out of France.

The food was simple, comforting, and done right — buttery, flaky pastries and crepes that were light, delicate, and full of flavour. Nothing overcomplicated, just honest French café fare that hits the spot perfectly. Coffee was solid and paired beautifully with the food.

Service was just right — attentive, friendly, and relaxed without ever feeling rushed or intrusive. That balance made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable.

Relaxed, welcoming, and unpretentious — a wonderful spot to slow down, people-watch, and enjoy the moment.

Highly recommended, and definitely a place I’d return to again.

The place was lovely, but the crepes were quite pricey. I also asked for gluten free and dairy free sweet crepes, and they said they could do the vegan version for me which I did appreciate. However, it tasted like it had dairy in it (very buttery), so I asked the staff to make sure it was dairy free. She said “didn’t you ask for vegan?” I mean vegan shouldn’t have dairy in it anyway, right?

The Head Chef Tiffin is very talented. The salmon crepe was delicious, and not too heavy.

I’m so glad we stopped in here for lunch…this is a busy authentic French Cafe and it’s so cool to hear the french language spoken while dining on French cuisine…

We ordered off the Galette and Crepe menu, which was absolutely delicious …

The Bacon and Brie Gallette, a stunning package of molten goodness in a crispy parcel was so yummy, and the crepe was equally Devine.

Absolutely reccomend!

Lovely atmosphere on a sunny day. Food was pleasant, but I have yet to be wowed. Impressed by the range of options on the menu, so I definitely plan to go back and find something I like. I tried the chicken and waffles, and my partner tried the eggs benny. Flavours seemed a bit muted for our taste.

I recently visited So French Café in Devonport and had a truly delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was the bacon and brie gallette, which was packed full of flavor and cooked to perfection. While the presentation could have been a bit better, it certainly didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the dish.

Following the gallette, I had the delicate crepe which was absolutely excellent. It was light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. The service at So French Café was also spot on. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a great experience.

Overall, I would highly recommend So French Café to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic French meal in Devonport. The food was top-notch, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the delicious dishes on offer!

For lunch mid week, it was delicious. The only issues were they sat us back near the clothes shop, instead of near the cafe itself. This meant we didn’t get food for 40 minutes, and that was a bummer. At least the music and food was good. I had the peach berry iced tea, and the mozzarella salad and it was delicious.

Nice and very authentic french cafe. Had the salmon galettes with goat cheese and fresh spinach which was super delicious. Good flat white as well. Food presentation could be a bit nicer but taste makes up for it. Would definitely recommend.
