We ordered two small and one medium, but were charged for two mediums, one small, and one Chamoyada Loka.
We were handed three raspas swimming in juice, with only gummy bears, candied apples, and a tamarindo stick. All three were missing the hormiguitas, sour strips, and pickles.
I rang the doorbell and asked what we were charged for. She said the Extreme, so I explained we were missing almost everything except the apples, gummies, and tamarindo sticks. She only brought out the sour strips and closed the window.
I waited, assuming she would bring the remaining pickles and candies, but she never did. When I rang again, she looked at me as if I was trying to get something for free and still did not bring the rest of the items.
We originally went because my husband and I wanted a plain pickle dilly, but decided to try the Extreme instead. Instead, we received melted raspas that were already halfway down, and were charged $31.
I took photos to show my sister and realized ingredients were missing.
I ended up throwing mine away. We will not be returning.
The place also did not look sanitary. An employee was handling food with gloves, touching the doorknob, then going back to handling food without changing gloves. Due to concerns about cross-contamination, I will be contacting the health department.
Always an amazing experience! The snowballs are delicious, refreshing, and full of flavor. The service is consistently friendly, quick, and welcoming every time I visit. Everything is always fresh and prepared just right. Definitely one of my favorite spots in McAllen—highly recommend to anyone looking for a treat!
I told her it was my first time there, and she didn’t seem to care or make any effort to help. I asked what came on the elote, and she couldn’t clearly explain it. When I asked if they sold crepes with cajeta and Philadelphia cheese, she looked at me with visible confusion and responded in a way that felt judgmental and unwelcoming.
On top of the poor customer service, the elote itself was the worst I’ve ever had. Overall, there was no attention to customer service or basic courtesy. I won’t be coming back.
