Everyone was so nice and they really care about good service and good food. We had a ribeye and loaded potato ( you get to fix your potato at the salad bar). Some people at our table ordered the fish and it was excellent as was our steak. we didn’t have room for dessert but they have some good ones. The salad bar was amazing and they have smoked oysters ! Yummy ! The burger was juicy ! We will be back !
Two major issues with this place.
First is cost. Tonight for almost $100 my wife and I got two poorly cooked gristly steaks (ribeye and filet mignon) which were not cooked appropriately. The sides were two slices of sandwich bread toasted blonde, some barely seasoned fries, some onion and peppers cooked into almost a sludge and a baked potato the size of a baseball. For this same amount I could’ve gone to the Blacksmith, Flatiron, Bourbon and Barley, Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn and had a much better class of food in much more generous portions. (In the case or Bourbon and Barley, Flat iron and the Blacksmith I would also be keeping money local in West TN).
Speaking of a better class of food the second issue is the environment. I have never been in a more Ramshackle and run down “steakhouse” in my life. The wood this place is made from looks nasty and there were parts of the building that if I had been sat there I would’ve just gotten up and left. IT IS THAT BAD. The tables are so close together I can not only smell my neighbors food but I can also hear their chewing and smell their body odor. Finally trying to move through the place I was jostled so much that I felt like I was in a mosh pit.
Also let me be blunt, I wear a star of David and the GLARES I got when I walked in made me glad I hid my Kippah under my beanie. I have never been more convinced that if I had said “Shalom” on the phone there would’ve been spit in my food. To any minority reading this, this is in my opinion NOT a safe place to buy food from. (Seems to be a common stance from the other reviews)
The only benefit this place has is that the wait staff and the cashier are fantastic and really polite.
You couldn’t pay me to come back here and I am sorry I gave it a second try. Spend the gas and drive into town.
Must try !
Though Jennette was our server and she was wonderful, we left her a nice tip because she did HER job to the nth degree!!! But let me just tell you…..the food is WAY overpriced!! And not of good quality . I got the chicken tenders with French fries, and it was edible. It also came with the salad bar and that was a nightmare! The lettuce was so diced up, you couldn’t tell if you had any on your fork!! The ONLY thing in that bar that had any taste to speak of, were the cucumbers!!! I looked over the salad dressing to see what kinds they had and got excited to see blue cheese, my favorite!! Right?? WRONG!!! It was watered down and tasteless!!! Hubby ordered the house burger, which is basically a cheese burger with BLT and an onion ring on top, which it was….but it was LOUSY!! First off, the onion ring was so skinny it looked like you could use it for a shoelace. Secondly, the tomato was yellow, green!!!! We showed it to our server and even SHE said that it didn’t look good at all!!! Upon eating the burger, my husband had a look on his face like he had just eaten a lemon!!! I took a bite of his burger and almost gagged!!! It was tasteless! It certainly didn’t have the luscious taste of any Angus beef we’ve ever had!!! I am sooo glad we didn’t take a chance and order steaks!!! We figure, if a place can’t put out a decent burger, (which is basically a steak ground up), then how can they put out a good steak??? Our server brought out a basket full of “butter ” in little cups and I asked her what they were for. She explained incase you order a baked potato. I said to her, these look like margarine and she said they were. At these high prices, and they give you margarine and not real butter!!!???!! What a clip joint!!! We will NOT BE BACK!!! It’s sad to see how quality goes down the drain and prices soar!!! I am sure that this is not the same quality that was started out in 1994!!!
The ambience has ALOT to be desired too!! We are sitting there trying to eat and in walk 5 construction workers dirty and grungy. They sit at the table near us and start “talking ” ?? Cursing is more like it. Well it’s not pleasant to listen to the F- word being flung around so casually…like someone was just asking for the catsup or something!!!
