LOVE THIS PLACE! I have dined in and had take out. I have had breakfast, brunch and pizza. The food is excellent. The service varies depending on if the owner is there. The atmosphere is loud and friendly. You may find difficulty navigating the floorplan if you use a walker or wheelchair. Indoor and outdoor seating.

This is a gem. Good and sufficient food and courteous staff. We had the Greek Salad which was well crafted, with good flavor, and a large serving. The inside seating area is relatively small but there were two seats available when we visited. When the weather is warmer, there is additional seating outside. We also had macaroons for dessert. These are to die for. Good sized, flavorful, and moist inside. Regardless of what you have for your meal, you have to top it off with one of these.
The 4 Star for atmosphere shouldn’t be taken as a hit. It is simply acknowledgement that the seating area – the entire establishment is in a renovated space. It is adequate and clean, but it lacks finishing.

It’s a great little out of the way bakery. We got a Philly cheesesteak pizza. Really good. The parking area is a little rough. But overall me and my oldest son enjoyed it. I forgot to take pics of the food or venue.

Hot country you TVs recommended we eat here after our mountain adventure. They did not lead us astray. The pizzas were delicious. The bakery fantastic! They had samples of their fruit cake. I will be ordering some to be shipped to me. Red Velvet sandwich cookies were delicious. Pizza was hot cheesy and good. We ordered three pizzas six cookies and six drinks in our meal was under $70 fed six boys and had leftovers to take home.
The only reason I didn’t give the atmosphere five stars is because they’re clearly still rebuilding from the hurricane. Not their fault it’ll have five stars when they have everything redone. Go support this local business if you’re staying in Boone Banner elk Roan Mountain Johnson City anywhere within an hour drive it’s worth it.

What a treat to find! VERY good brick oven pizza crust. Also have tons of toppings to choose from. We grabbed a coconut macaroon for the road and it was great. We didn’t arrive in time to get any apurdoybread but we also bought some of their rye bread that was phenomenal tasting! Atmosphere is homey and simple beyond measure and bathrooms are outside but don’t let that stop you from coming to this gem of a place!

We ordered the pancakes and they were great, the French toast was left to long in the egg so the center was soggy but the flavors were cinnamon and tasted good( I ate it all even though it was soggy). I didn’t want to wait for a recook so I didn’t complain. I got the apple turnover and it was good too, there is outdoor seating and a table for 10 inside. Outdoor restrooms too. Homemade bread and cinnamon rolls and more, a must to visit if you’re in the area.

I visit Roan Mtn State Park at least twice a year and since Smoky Mountain Bakers opened, I come here every time for pizza.
I love the fact that I can get a delicious gourmet wood-fired pizza in this little town outside the park. I’ve tried almost every variation but the 6 Cheese is my fave I think, just sublime.
Their baked goods are amazing. Try the brownies or rice treats!
Update 6/25/24 Their breakfasts are amazing! Fabulous veggie omelets, blueberry pancakes and biscuits & gravy!

Good thing the two BBQ places nearby were closed otherwise we would have missed this cute bakery. One of the best pizzas I’ve had – “All the way” with 11 toppings (cause I had them omit the green peppers). Looking forward to trying the selection of baked good we are taking away.

Be prepared, it is a dive. Food is excellent, however. It has character, authenticity, and creativity. Whether it is the pizza, pastries and desserts, or even the chef salad, everything is delicious. I look forward to eating here again! Hopefully they will outgrow the present situation and move to one of the empty storefronts in the charming town of Roan Mountain!
