Call ahead to see if James is open and what he is serving. Lately they have been fewer folks in Sargent and sales have been down. He adjusts how much food he prepares and his hours accordingly.
He makes sure it is still delicious.

Rude service… showed up to grab some breakfast and was greeted with a snide: “what do you want?” They weren’t serving breakfast so we left. The next customer, of whom was obviously a local, was greeted with a friendly hey how you doing.. you should be nice to everybody if you are going to be in the customer service business. Food always tastes better when served with a friendly smile!

It’s probably the best BBQ I ever had. I don’t mind driving 1.30 hours to get there. The ribs, the sausage, the chicken, and of course, the juicy brisket are the best.
