Disappointed with the ribs, literally had to rip them off with my teeth, out of 6 bones I only ate 2! they do not fall off the bone. I wasn’t expecting this and the taste of the charcoal is super heavy. The ribs were not seasoned smh ..The string beans and Mac & cheese were good.

Im from Texas so I love good BBQ, bit I should have left when I pulled up and saw someone put what appeared to be a frozen slab with no seasoning on the pit. But I decided to give them a chance. So I ordered the catfish platter with mac and cheese and greens and a rib sandwich. I should have followed my first mind. Ribs weren’t pull the bone out tender and smoked. Tasted more like meat on a grill. The greens weren’t seasoned. The only savoir was the catfish and Mac and cheese. The catfish needed a little more seasoning but wasn’t bad. The Mac and cheese was hot, cheesy and on point. So if I want good BBQ I’ll smoke it myself…

I really wanted to enjoy my meal from Smokeshack Carry Outs, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. I ordered the beef ribs, cabbage, and baked beans, thinking I was in for a hearty, flavorful plate of comfort food—but I was left disappointed.

The beef ribs were okay in texture, but they didn’t have the rich, smoky flavor I was hoping for. The barbecue sauce was especially off-putting—it had an extremely strong vinegar taste that overwhelmed everything else. Instead of enhancing the meat, it masked any natural flavor the ribs may have had.

The baked beans tasted undercooked, both in texture and flavor. They were firm and lacking that slow-cooked, savory-sweet richness you expect from a good side of beans. It honestly felt like they were rushed or not cooked all the way through.

As for the cabbage, it was probably the biggest letdown of the plate. There was no seasoning at all—no salt, pepper, butter, or anything to give it life. It tasted like plain, boiled cabbage with zero effort put into flavor.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I think it’s important feedback for the kitchen. There’s potential here, but the execution just wasn’t there this time around. Hopefully, they take this as constructive criticism and make some improvements.

I wanted to try this place for a while and on a whim one cold rainy day I finally did. Best decision ever because, no lie…the ribs tasted like a warm hug from my family down south. They were tender and seasoned to perfection. The greens and Mac were tasty too so I will definitely be back.

I must have passed this place a handful of times and finally stopped in recently to try their half chicken with Mac & cheese and their candied yams and a side of BBQ sauce. The food is so delicious! The chicken falls off the bones, They were very busy and the line moved exceptionally quick! Definitely would recommend trying this place if you are in the area. Very reasonable prices.

The Ribs are good and the homemade peach cobbler is the best ever. They do offer sides but I haven’t had them. The parking lot is very small. You may have to park on the street.

This is top tier BBQ. This place is literally a hidden gem. I ordered the half rack of pork ribs with a side of bake beans and green beans. The ribs are hands down the best I’ve had in Maryland. The restaurant is take out only but the service is fairly quick.

Precovid the food was much better. Now Greens were very salty and chopped up way too much, meat was so chewy, with too much fat and kinda stringy. I hope as time goes on food will once again taste nicely flavored but not overly salty and the sauce will be as before, nicely tangy but not with so much vinegar

I did an online order which is very convenient. The online system gave me a pickup time the food would be ready, but when I went inside to pick up my order it wasn’t prepared. I’m not sure if it was just a busy day or they want to ensure you’re there so your food is freshly packaged. They put all the food in separate containers and I appreciate that. I was able to control my portions and nothing gets soggy. Everything was fresh. I tried the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, potato salad and peach cobbler. I enjoyed the food. The sides were basic honestly. Everything was edible but nothing stood out. I did enjoy their peach cobbler. My spouse said it wasn’t sweet enough but I think it was simple and to the point. Not too sweet, a good texture and balance of fruit and dough, and some spices. They offer a good portion as well.
