We knew it would be good when the line started forming before they opened, but our expectations were blown through the roof when we opened our bag. The portion size is enough to feed to a small family and the prices are incredible considering how much food you get. The baby back rib sandwich was the best I’ve ever had. The Mac and cheese was Heavenly. This man could smoke a shoe and I’d eat it. Do yourself a favor and check him out. Be patient, it’s a one man show, but it’s absolutely worth the mouth watering wait.

Food here is great, cheap pricing and huge portions. The guy that runs the place is pleasant. Just keep in mind it’s a one man show and therefore you need to be patient as it takes a bit. I’d recommend coming here and grabbing food. There are a couple tables you can eat at in a pinch but it’s mostly a take away spot

Smoke is incredible! I traveled from NY to try some food. We reached on Saturday, but made it too late so we decided to go back on Sunday. I was very excited to try the food, especially upon arrival, I saw Smoke behind the smoker. On Sunday, I reached by 2 and saw that serving would begin at 3. We waited in the truck to be first to get served since the line for food can pick up very quickly. We didn’t want to take the chance of leaving our place on line. To create order and organization, there is a ticket system in place. You must take a ticket and your number will be called to advance. Because ppl started coming in, Smoke personally approached our truck and handed us our ticket for being first on line. He was also courteous to let us know that he would be making a run to superstore and would be back shortly.
Service time: we ordered half rack rib platter with a large side of Mac and cheese. The platter also comes with cornbread. Would you believe Smoke upgraded is to Full rack and extra cornbread for the wait? That was amazing! I am so grateful for that because THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! The ribs were so tender that it was falling off the bone. The sweet sauce and spicy sauce…yummy!!! I had to lick my fingers. I was so happy we were able to get Smoke’s. The travel was so worth it, Smoke, and I look forward to trying other dishes off the menu.
If you are able to get to DE, Smoke’s Smokehouse is a MUST TRY. I will be back, again and again.

Based purely on the visual, Smoke’s Smoke Shack may be more appropriate. In the middle of Route 40 near People’s Plaza. Smoke’s is a one man show. You will get attention to detail and not speed. I got the beef brisket sandwich. I figured it is in the extended Cheesesteak family. $10. Choice of sweet or hot sauce. I went sweet. Fairly tasty. Good amount of meat. My favorite things about Smoke’s are; steady flow of regular customers, owner working his tail off trying to make everyone happy, $1 soda, wet nap and two candies with your sandwich.

Absolutely Incredible BBQ!
Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had in DE! I ordered the brisket, chicken sandwich, beans, and mac & cheese every single bite was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The brisket was tender and juicy, the chicken sandwich had the perfect smoky taste, and the sides were just as amazing. The mac & cheese was creamy and comforting, and the beans were full of rich, savory flavor.
My wife and I were beyond satisfied we both couldn’t stop talking about how good everything was. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for top-tier barbecue. We’ll definitely be back. Once again, 5 stars absolutely worth it!

On not 1, Not 2 but 3 occasions iv traveled from Baltimore to Delaware bc iv heard he had the best bbq out there. On one of the three occasions I got there and sign in window said open at 2pm. No problem went along with my day and would catch him business another day! The 2nd and 3rd occasion got there anywhere from 2pm to 2:30pm. Sigh said open at 3pm. So went up and did some things and went back. Just to see a sign change to say open at 3:30. On the 3rd occasion we waited the 15 mins and got gas next door and went back. Had four ppl waiting with us when 3:55 come around I walked to side of building to smoke, away from the other ppl waiting. Saw the owner and watched him while I burned a whole cigarette. The whole time I burned he didn’t move at all. Finally walked towards the side of trailer and ask him if he planed to open anytime soon. He got nasty with me and said he couldn’t open without a generator to power things. He said he had a broken spring. Pritty sure he was knocked out laying on top the generator bc I smoked for prob 8 mins and he didn’t move at all.

Great bbq. I had the Jerk Chicken sandwich was amazing. I will go. Back for sure. If you like smoked BBQ you have to stop and try. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays

For years been spending my $$$ hear along with driving 20 miles not because of the owner but the BBQ. He is not the easiest person to deal with. Brisket sandwich and everything is good. You can’t be sure just what time he will open. But trays of brisket every year but lately I seen a change in the brisket he sold me stringy and just different. This week it came to the head for me. My question of food two or three times and dark nights day time attitude no more of my MONEY
