Spent 145.00 on dry bbq. We ordered the platter that had everything. It had lost it’s smoke flavor and the brisket didn’t have anything near a smoke ring. The sides were not homemade. The mac and cheese was the off brand of Velveeta shells and cheese. The only flavor the green beans had was cayenne pepper which made it too spicy. Not sure where the beans came from. I want to say the service is good but the lady at the front is just rude when all I asked for was extra onions and pickles. Her reply was, she packed enough…

Just had lunch here and the barbeque was great and staff very friendly! I got half a rack of ribs (taking two with me) that were very flavorful and tender enough to be falling off the bone. My side of potato salad was good and not sweet which is the way I like it. My husband had brisket and jalapeno sausage. He likes his brisket a little juicier though it was good and the sausage was yummy and did have some spice to it. He said his sides of Mac& cheese and pinto beans were very good. We’ll be back when passing through again!

Great little BBQ place, the boys know how to brisket. Great smoke ring, creative adds on the menu. Home town feel, the kind of low key, friendly place you’d end up at after church on a Sunday. Brisket fries were a treat that hit the snack sweet spot. And where else are you going to have that snack while eating with a little old lady, the local football coach and a couple of patched bikers? Cash Only and no beers.

Well I really wanna like this place so I will start with the positive.
The baked potato was amazing, The jalapeño sausage is very tasty, the Brisket just seemed normal nothing great but good.
The Not so positive,
potato salad was pretty bad and I really like mustard based tatter salad, the Coleslaw was very dry and no taste at all. Also they were all out of all the other side menu items.
but what bothered me the most was the incompetence of Randy, Although being very friendly he just does not listen at all. I asked for sausage links NOT Sliced so I could make sausage wraps. I told him multiple times NOT to slice the sausage.
well as you can see from photos he did not listen at all. we were the only customers in entire place as well.
to many other food options in Alpine to try than this place again.

This is a wonderful gem in Alpine. The food was very tasty. We tried the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. They were all delicious. The fries were crispy and tasty. The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is the cleanliness of the tables. There is grease from the meats on the tables. Perhaps a different cleaner would be beneficial. One that cuts grease. Overall, I would definitely stop by again on the way through Alpine.

This place was just alright. I ordered brisket and ribs. The bark was so overcooked and dry on both that it was inedible. That is the best part of bbq and I had to toss it. Not really worth the price in my opinion. Cash only or you can venmo someone at the counter.

Love this place! Thinking of their chopped beef sandwich makes my mouth water, & it’s always overflowing with meat. I can’t get enough of their sausage either. Cash or check only. Go early because they tend to sell out of some options. Take advantage of sitting outside at their picnic tables on beautiful days. Somewhat limited hours (well . . . for Alpine that is )

The brisket was really good with just the right amount of smoke. The coleslaw and Mack & Cheese was good. Also the BBQ sauce was a but plain, but flavorful, went well with the Brisket. It just took longer than expected to get the food order, and all they have is canned drinks.
My wife got their Frito Pie which used the spiral Fritos. I had a taste of that and definitely would have ordered.

Stop at this place, the food is worth it. They’re cash only and have no atmosphere or bathrooms so get your food to-go. The establishment neighbors a gas station so fill-up, use the facilities, and have your co-pilot get some pulled pork sandwiches with their savory BBQ sauce!

Terrific BBQ place. Stopped in during a weekend in Alpine. Had the ribs – large portion, very soft, great smoky flavor. Also really liked the potato salad. Definitely would come back.
