This place is great! One of our favorite lunch spots in Great Falls. Each time I’m in, it amazes me how many people come through there each day. Given how tasty the food is, it’s not surprising. I always get a two meat plate with brisket and pulled pork. It comes with two sides and it’s always hard for me to choose. The potato salad is one of my favorites, it’s a different texture than the potato salad I’m used to, but it’s delicious. If you’re lucky enough to be in while they have their pasta salad, you have to try it.

Excellent service! Awesome friendly atmosphere! They genuinely care about their customers and their quality. They are super busy, but not too busy to answer any questions. We were passing through Great Falls and saw them on the web. We knew we had to stop. You don’t get great food like this in California! We had the brisket, pulled pork and turkey. As well as both links, the jalapeño cheddar was great. For sides we had the beans, pork belly Mac and cheese, and potato salad. Since we got enough for dinner tonight we added the regular Mac and cheese and another potato salad. The Texas BBQ sauce was so good I bought one of those also!!

When I look for places to go to eat I found this place. It’s amazing that they’re only open during lunchtime and are still able to survive. Once I arrived I understood why. They open at 11 AM and we got there as they opened and immediately it quickly filled up. I got the pork belly burnt ends and they melted in my mouth. My colleague got the ribs and pork belly and love them as well. Fast friendly service, small dining area inside during the winter. If you’re going to go, which I highly recommend, get there early if you want a table.

Let’s cut to the chase; Smoked is the best BBQ in Great Falls, probably even in all of Montana. I’ve had good BBQ in a lot of places and this is as good as anything I’ve tasted. This is honest BBQ – smoked to perfection and expertly seasoned. I have been here a number of times and waited to post this review so I could try a few things. Today was pulled-pork. It was tender, moist and delicious. You know it’s good when it doesn’t require any extra sauce. Topped with the house coleslaw, it’s heaven. The smoked turkey is nothing short of mouth-watering. I recommend the Alabama white sauce, which is amazing in it’s own right, but is perfect on the turkey. Come early, because the turkey is popular and sometimes they run out. The brisket is perfect. Period. The sides are also very good, especially the potato salad. Portions are on the generous side and prices are very reasonable. The pulled pork sandwich with a side and a drink was under $12. For the quality of food you get here, that’s a very good value. Staff is friendly and service is quick. Because it’s popular, seating is at a premium during lunch hours. Also, Tuesday is military day with discounts for those who serve or have served our country. Bottom line, if you’re anywhere near Great Falls, do not miss Smoked American BBQ. You will not be disappointed.

I struggle to try BBQ places north of 40° N latitude. This place got recommended to me. It’s a GREAT barbecue joint. Pulled pork was great. Coworker got the brisket and loved it. Beans – I added some spicy bbq sauce to wake them up. I wish it was just closer to home.
