Astonished Now
Everything was spectacular! We were enticed to visit when we saw Smoke Cantina’s beautifully curated menu. We were visiting Franklin for an autumn adventure from Pittsburgh, and we were dazzled by the beautiful design of the restaurant, spectacular service, and the memorable meal!

We were warmly greater by Carley, who provided excellent service and recommendations through our entire experience!

The Smoked Old Fashioned was perfectly crafted and balanced. The French Onion Soup was delightfully rich and warming, and we loved the fresh creamy Caesar Salad. Both of our meals were perfection, full of flavor and beautifully plated. I was impressed by the Five Spice Pekin Duck with sweet potato puree and lo mein, and my husband was so pleased with the Prime Handcut Boneless Ribeye which was seasoned and salmuera basted, along with garlic herb butter and creamy garlic chimi sauce.

We had the fortune of meeting Dani the owner, her pride in the community was shining through as she shared about the various festivals of Franklin and how it is such a special place! This all translates into why the restaurant experience was so wonderful – it is obvious that everything down to the details is driven by a high level of passion and care!

An Affogato and Banana’s Foster Creme Brulee meyer rum custard with carmelized banana and salted caramel drizzle were the perfect ending to the meal!

The photograph showing the restaurant interior was taken when we first arrived at 4pm, and by 5pm the restaurant was full because this is the place to be in Franklin! We are looking forward to returning!

First time here, celebrating our anniversary and wanted to try something different. Our food was delicious. I had butternut squash ravioli and a delicious side salad. Caramelized onions on the ravioli were amazing. Hubby had a delicious pork chop, very juicy with a garlic sauce and a side of nicely done cheesy grits with fire roasted tomatoes. We each had a drink…I had an Autumn spiced mule which was very enjoyable and hubby had an old fashioned, which he did not care for…too heavy on the spice. Hubby ordered jumbo shrimp as an appetizer and they did not disappoint…. Very tasty. Dessert was pumpkin bread pudding with vanilla ice cream on top. Nice presentation of all dishes served. Our server was nice and answered all of our questions but never offered anything more…she never introduced herself to us and the service felt more like a diner experience vs a fine dining establishment. She did ask how our meals were but never asked what we thought of our drinks. The music was too loud and as we exited the restaurant, we noticed the music level was the same level throughout the establishment. We had a table for two but it was less than two feet from the four top next to us and their entire conversation was as if we were part of their group. The decor of the restaurant is lovely but it didn’t feel cozy because of the loud music and our table being so close to the one beside us. I looked forward to leaving the noise level and returning to the quietness of the outside. The delicious food is the best reason for a return visit but not sure if we will do so.

I was traveling to the area for work and decided to try this place after finding it on Google based on other reviews and I was not disappointed!

The freshly made gimlet was amazing! I had two Tapas because I wanted to try different things and they were amazing. The tamales were great, and the tuna sashimi was amazing!

What a great restaurant in this small town!

I can not say enough about this restaurant! Everything we tried was delicious! We had the pub burger and pork belly sandwich and were very happy. The food was so impressive we took dessert home with us to try because we were so full but didn’t want to miss out! The owner Danielle was incredibly sweet and personable. Her attention to detail and modern twists on culinary classics really puts this gem in a restaurant class I would expect in New York City or Toronto. First time guests and can’t wait to come back again soon!

Stopped in after the ice festival for dinner on 2/8/25. We weren’t sure what to expect, but man oh man! Everything was delicious! I’m a bit of a foodie… slightly boogie. And this place ticked all the boxes. I highly recommend the Poblano burger and the Ricotta starter. Caesar dressing on the salad was superb as well. Don’t skip it! Make this place a stop along the way, for sure.

How often do you go to a restaurant and get to chat with and be personally served by the owners, the brilliant minds behind the menu? Wonderful people who make you feel like a beloved regular on the very first visit. Food made with thought and creativity, a clear desire to stand out and offer the community something different. The pretzel was the most beautiful thing I ever did see, my crispy shrimp wraps were the perfect balance of heat (I’m getting hungry just thinking about it omg), my husband loved his Poblano burger and the drinks were tastefully unique. With plentiful outdoor seating, a full menu of interesting food and damn good prices, we cannot wait to come back.

The teriyaki Ramen was very good could use more fresh vegetables all they put in it is pickled onions and pickled jalapeño. I also had the jalapeño popper pizza. This pizza as good but it had pepperoni on it I think it should have chicken instead. That’s just me. The waitress was very nice and seemed to care about my experience. They played country music it was a little load for my liking but not to bad.
