Smoke is hands down one of my favorite restaurants. We go there at least twice a month, and the food is always incredible. The owners are extremely friendly and we chat with them most times we go. They’re always exploring new dishes and talking with us about what we may want to see them try next. It’s clear these two have a big passion for making great food for people.
The prices are decent, but the portions are HUGE so you definitely get what you pay for.
When it comes to dinners, this place has hands down the best pulled pork and beef brisket I’ve ever found in the state. The only places that compare are places I’ve visited in the deep south next Mexico. If you want real southern bbq taste, this is where you should go.

Their brisket and pulled pork no longer have smoke flavor whatsoever. The man there told me today that they bake the brisket over night in the oven. $20 a lb. I don’t know where some of the other people shop but I don’t find that to be inexpensive. It used to be extremely good about 3 to 4 months ago. Just because they’re local and the owners will chat with you does not make the food good. They may be friendly but they truly don’t know what they’re doing it comes to smoked BBQ

Pretty small joint that I never even knew was here. Parking is tough, but that’s how it is for every place downtown here. Really friendly staff met us at the door and were helpful with the menu and options. The small size made it feel like all of our interactions with the staff were more genuine. Food was excellent, you could tell it was all freshly made and high quality. Will definitely be going back.

We’re regulars at this restaurant and love it. I grew up in the deep south and have had more than my fair share of barbecue. This place is as good as any I’ve tried, and it’s right here in Saline! It’s not a fancy restaurant, just plain and simple and inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Best breakfast place in town, hands down. And you won’t find a better pancake anywhere close. A friend and I go here every weekend for breakfast, and the owners and all the staff are great. It’s an easy-going atmosphere with high quality food. It’s tucked behind the main strip (behind Dan’s) right off one of the parking lots. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

As most people who’ve been here know, it’s a wonderful family-run restaurant in downtown Saline. Amazing food, really nice down to earth staff and a great atmosphere! Reading the other reviews makes me so happy except the last one. I’m so sorry that people feel the need to have everything they want when they want it, with no exceptions. This is a family-run establishment, not a franchise where the rich owners make you work holidays instead of spending time with your families. I know for a fact the owner and her daughter worked the 4th of July until they closed a little early so they could try to enjoy what was left of the holiday. And the fact that you went out of your way to write a bad review over something so small, when you could’ve just found another place, like franchises, like everyone else is beyond ridiculous. It makes you look like a spoiled child. That being said, I LOVE this restaurant and I praise them for closing early for the holiday.

Customer Service – Customer Service – lacks. Very disappointed did not get to eat here.. Called on a Saturday night to see what time they seated until was put on hold no one came back to phone. Stopped in at 745 which I know is late (they close 8) but asked if still seating. Was told yes.. Ordered and then guy in the back got our order was cussing f word, was throwing dishes into the sink, kept looking at us through small window shaking head- we left. I know it was late but we tried to call, we asked if ok when came in. Workers should know if you close at a time customers can come in until that time. Disappointed was looking forward to trying the place. Unappreciated for effort not going back.. Owner should evaluate his workers for greater success.

Smoke is serving up some amazing BBQ at my cafeteria in NCRC on Tuesdays now. I LOVE their food. The owner gave me a free sample of BBQ ribs today, and I’m pretty sure I blacked out while devouring them. They were SOOO GOOD! That Kansas City BBQ is dyno-miiiiite! I see that there are a few haters that gave bad reviews; I can assure you it’s not because of the food. This is all about the BBQ. If you love BBQ, you’re going to love Smoke.

Incredible food, best bbq in Michigan and would give that I’ve had in the carolinas and texas a run for its money. Try the potato skins and mac’n’cheese. The Peach Cobbler was heavenly, so good I had to capitalize it. Service was friendly, very effective, and the prices are reasonable. Portion sizes were quite big, especially for bbq. Will be back as often as I can!

Sadly, Smoke used to have great bbq. My last trip this past weekend proved a disappointment. Although the meats were tender, they lacked any smoked flavor whatsoever. The Mac was also overcooked and lacked flavor. I was not impressed.
