For over 30 years the Smok-Shak Restaurant has been servin’ up some of Oklahoma’s best BBQ. From the slow-cooked meats to the homemade fixin’s, the hand cut fries to the fresh baked bread — we promise you won’t leave here hungry. Our generous portions are served up with a friendly smile and the small-town flair that makes our little neck of the woods so special. Located 15 mi E of City of Alva and 2 miles N/2 mi W of City of Cherokee in Ingersoll, OK. Owner Debra Engle opened the Smok-Shak in 1985. Many of the dishes she serves are old family recipes that have been handed down to her. The locals love us and dine with us regularly. Next time you’re passin’ by plan to stop in. Honestly a little disappointed, the reviews were fantastic so we made an effort to try this restaurant from coming out of Stillwater. The staff was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere nice, the prices very reasonable, the only problem was with the food. My pulled pork sandwich came out soaking wet with some sort of water and not juice of any kind, it had no flavor and my bottom bun was sloppy and soggy, my girlfriends ribs where really dry as well sadly. We left with our food not sitting well in our stomaches. Hopefully we just came on an off day considering the rave reviews, but definitely something for management to look into.

came here with my friend because the place was recommended to us. We arrived around 5:45. My friend ordered the pulled pork, and it looked great — hot, fresh, and exactly how it should be.
I ordered the sausage sandwich, and I’m going to be very honest: it tasted like it had been sliced, warmed up, put back in the fridge, and then barely warmed again before serving. It was not even warm, the flavor wasn’t good, and it was extremely salty. I did finish it, but it was not enjoyable at all.
Then I tried the cobbler, which I expected to be fresh and warm. Instead, it was cold and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge.
Overall, the food just wasn’t good to me, and I wouldn’t come back. I’m sorry, but the quality did not match the recommendation we were given.
And the wait time wasnt worth it at all.

The food was amazing!! I got a pulled pork sandwich and almost couldnt talk it was so tasty.
Every meal comes with a complimentary dessert which rotates throughout the week.
They got all kinds of options so I’ll definitely have to go again.
The atmosphere felt really homey / Lodge style, my favorite part was the shutter windows.
Definitely a spot to check out if you’re driving through oklahoma!

We showed up and they were really busy. They really needed 2 waitresses, but only had one. She was running her butt off. Waiting tables, taking money, taking phone orders, delivering food and drinks to the tables. I felt sorry for her but she handled it pretty well. Food was great. My wife ordered curly fries that she never got. I really don’t know who screwed up, but if it was our waitress, I completely understand.

The smoked meats were extremely salty. The baked beans were almost too sweet.

This restaurant was just ok. It was recommended to us when my group was in Alva. In a group of 9 no one was really wowed by anything. The 3 of us had the brisket and we all agreed it was very salty. The barbecue sauce was ok, but the spicy version was not spicy at all. One of our guys had the ribs and he didn’t really like them or the onion rings that he got as sides. Many of us did like their hand cut fries and the service was very good even with a large group.

They had good lemonade…. maybe it was a bad day but my grilled cheese was soggy tasted like burnt grease with a touch of meat. The fries were burnt and grease had pooled under them on the plate. Ill try them again but not soon tho

This was a great find! Not much in this town but they do have a great restaurant! Had Calf Fries for the start. Very good. The sauce was great not too salty. How cool was my Ice Tea in a Mason Jar?? The sausage I had tasted home made. It was great. The beans had a unique taste! I couldn’t stop eating them. My potato salad was the only thing that was just not to die for. It had something in it that was a little off to me. It just wasn’t made for me. The place was clean. Bathroom was taken care of also. I love that the kitchen is not behind closed door. Would most definitely recommend!!

The food delicious, and the waitress was extremely sweet. The ribs were tender, and my husband’s barbeque sandwich was very good. The mushrooms were delicious, as well. The jars for drinks was probably my favorite part.
