Pork chop was sooooo over cooked it tasted like chicken jerky. Pulled pork was also extremely overcooked and dry. Ribs and Mac were fantastic. The ribs and Mac n cheese saved this from the deathly 1 star review.

We eat here often. I appreciate the great food and the good customer service even more. It’s not often restaurants have collard greens that taste like they came straight out your grandma’s kitchen, this place has them. Highly recommend.

Edited : February 25th 2025 : Hello, Its ME Again One Year Later. Today I came here for the barbecue ribs with the side of corn on the COB, potato salad and, green beans / bacon bits. It was so good that I ordered twice, one for dine in, and another order to go. This is my favorite barbecue spot. Clean atmosphere with friendly staff and cashiers. Can’t go wrong.

2day I got the catfish dinner wit yams & collard greens as my sides! Sides were delicious, as was the seasoned catfish! Peach cobbler wasn’t to my liking. Canned peaches & way to much vanilla flavoring. Peach cobbler not worth the price, store bought taste much better.

First of customer service was perfect. Greeted with a smile and she was very pleasant. Nice place in the mall. Food was fantastic. Ordered the rib tips. Reason not 5 star was too much cartilage. The bbq sauce was . Definitely worth trying. Don’t sleep on this place.

Their BBQ is truly blessed. The sauce is fire and the pulled pork hits the spot. Sides are good too and the atmosphere/kind staff really make this place a go-to.
UPDATE: their renovations are finally complete! The expansion and extra seating area is nice. The prices are still extremely reasonable and food is tastyyyy.

Phenomenal food, friendly staff, very quick service. I ordered a plate of pulled chicken, brisket, baked beans, and french fries. EVERYTHING was on point. I gotta say the pulled chicken (with sauce) and the baked beans are the best I’ve ever had. Will 100% come back if I am ever in the area again.

Smoking pit has been one of my Home Town favorites for a while now! Upon entering the restaurant there are scriptures all through out the establishment and it really feels like a plus in addition to the Southern cooked meal that fills me up every single time. I always go in and grab the Create Your Own meal which comes with 2 meats and 2 sides. I usually get 1/2 of rib tips and a fillet of cat fish (request buffalo sauce on the side for you fish, youll thank me later) and for my sides I usually freestyle because all of the sides are amazing as well. 10/10 recommend.
