Allergies? Think again before eating here. We ordered banana peppers, French Fries and quinoa salad this evening. I have a severe shrimp allergy. While eating the banana peppers- I reached into the boat and found a SHRIMP!! Can we say cross contamination???!!! They fry everything in the same fryer!

My husband took them back and asked to speak to the manager, Holly. She tried to put their error back on him (the patron)!!! She told him, “You have to tell us if you have an allergy.” We ordered what we assumed was vegetarian food- not meat/seafood. She told him that they don’t have that many vats- AKA everything is cooked together

We were under the impression (and have been misled for years) that the vegetarian items were free of seafood contamination.

Delicious vegan options were wonderful. Service was spectacular and the food arrived quickly. Both the po boy and fillet were absolutely great, the Puerto Rican Sweet Potato Salad blew me away! I was in Lexington for two nights and went here both nights because the food was that good.
The added bonus is that they are in the space of West 6th Brewery, so having a great brew with your food is a cinch.
I rode my bike there and they had a bike rack plus as a bonus they are immediately next to a bike trail.

Lexington Foodies group on FB said the fish was amazing .. I was disappointed. The batter was thick and heavy, and tasted like the oil was old. The fish inside was tasty but I enjoy a light and crispy batter. The hush pups were fairly tasteless even with a sauce and I wasn’t a fan of the cole slaw either. The service and staff were lovely.

Smithtown Seafood, what great place to get a shrimp po’ boy and cold drink. You have to check it out.Delicous and unique. Hidden in plain sight. You will glad you ate here.

Located next to a cool craft brewery in downtown Lexington KY, this restaurant offers great food along with a wide choice of good local beers you can order in house when you dine in. I ordered the fish and chips which is excellent-moist, flaky not dry. The cod was fresh with a deep golden crispy crust cooked using the brewery’s signature west 6th beer batter. The cold slaw was not overly sweet yet crunchy and refreshing. The bite sized hush puppies were crispy and tasty too.

It’s definitely overhyped. The food was expensive and not great. I do like the order system, you scan the QR code at your table and they bring your order BUT the high tip options are insane alone with the price of the food. Nearly 15$ for 3 tiny shrimp tacos. 1 time visit.

Decided to try something new while in Lexington. Had the fish and chips with slaw and hush puppies. Wasn’t a bad meal, fish was a little greasy and hush puppies could use some more flavor. Also had the hot catfish for an appetizer and it was good

Everything here was just okay, ordered the Chili and grilled cheese. Ordered both mozzarella and cheddar cheese on the sandwich. When it came, it tasted like it was only mozzarella. Looked at the sandwich and only saw a white cheese. Went back over and they made the claim that it was a white cheddar that they used. That may be the case but the only reason I stopped eating to examine the sandwiches because I didn’t taste any cheddar. Decided not to press the issue but grilled cheese made only with mozzarella is not that great. Chili was pretty subpar as well, not much flavor. You can also tell that they use some sort of margarine on the grill for the grilled cheese sandwich. Definitely not real butter. Definitely wished I had just eaten at home, had some way better chili there.

The food is very enjoyable! The shrimp po boy is packed with flavor, and very filling! I also got the super spice fries, which were very nice! The side was an extra cost because the po boy doesn’t come with any, but there are definitely other food choices that do. I know their fish and chips are solid, and I hear their cat fish is delicious as well!
The establishment is open seating, and there are plaques for you to scan to order your food from. They definitely do their best to get your food out. If you are in a group, the timing can be off, and some people could be done eating before your food comes out. I do think their food is worth the wait (if there is one).
There are no refills for drinks, but you can buy bottled/can drinks, and they have a very nice bar with a great selection, as a heads up.

Fried Fish was really good and hot out of the kitchen. Plenty of fries and the slaw was really good. Atmosphere was relaxing. Not noisy. Oysters was excellent. Only thing I didn’t like was the battered banana peppers for our appetizer was too salty to eat.
