My husband and I celebrated my birthday at Smith’s Boathouse and it was wonderful. We had the Seafood platter special. It was perfect! The walleye was so delicious !

I travel the USA and like to support locally owned restaurants when I travel. I visited the Boathouse tonight and had one of my top 3 meals over the past 20. Years. The atmosphere was great, the service was exceptional and the food was as good as any 5 star restaurant. I had the calamari, filet and table-side Caesar salad. The calamari was tender, lightly coated and fried. Very tender and tasty with a shredded Parmasean on top. Two sauces; traditional and spicy mustard based. The filet was locally sourced, cooked perfectly. Very tender with a perfect sear. The filet was served over a bed of risotto and butternut squash and topped with goat cheese. The pairing of ingredients was perfect. The personal touch came when the owner prepared our Caesar salad table-side. The ingredients were fresh and she literally walked us through the creation of the dressing ingredient by ingredient. It was perfect. My only regret is that I don’t travel here often enough to enjoy the Boathouse as often as I would like to.

I go to Smith’s Boathouse all the time and their food and drinks are wonderful. During this summer, currently, they are doing lobster rolls on Tues and crab legs Wednesdays. I hope they continue to do that because it’s awesome and you can’t get that many places in the area.

What a peaceful evening at The Boathouse. We got the delicious halibut special & lobster pasta with salads. Their house dressing is wonderful. Key lime pie for desert was delish. We will be back! Thank you Shai for great service and Laura for a well run restaurant and ambiance!

My husband and I rarely get a dinner date without kids. We attempted to dine at Smith’s Boathouse 3/6/26 since we have in the past and enjoyed it. The hostess was unpleasant since we didn’t have a reservation. I simply asked about dining outside since it was 70 degrees, and the hostess responded as if I were an idiot for even asking. We were told not until May! Her attitude was a huge turnoff, so we went to The Caroline instead and had an amazing dinner and experience. The service at Smith’s hasn’t been the same since change in management.

Overall the place was pretty nice. My ONLY complain, and reason for not 5 stars, is that the steak wasn’t the proper temp. There were 3 people that ordered steak, myself included, and 2 were overcooked (ordered medium rare) and 1 was under cooked (ordered medium well). Mine was a true medium well, and the one that was supposed to be, a different cut so not switched, was a medium. The steaks were still good in spite of being over cooked, but they would have been that much better if they were correct. Everything else was amazing.
