I went into Smithfield’s craving barbeque but wanted to taste it before I bought a whole pint. When I asked the little lady very nicely, she turned around with such a sass the whole building could feel it.. she also proceeded to ask the cooks in the back by waving me off and trying to rush them to give it to her. That’s fine., I got the sample and it honestly didn’t really taste up to par but since me and my guy were trying to get dinner, we bought it anyway.. if it was up to me I wouldn’t have! When I do put my order in, the same little lady that took it was packing it.. its sad that as she was packing it, her coworkers on the back line were paying more attention to what’s going on in the dining room than what they were doing with someone’s food. All around, my experience was horrible and it didn’t have to be. I’m honestly just glad I didn’t get anything else as I’m sure I would have been unhappy with it..

Best Place to eat in Rocky Mount!!! The only place we will eat at going forward. We went in multiple restaurants around town and walked out. So glad we found Smithfields. From the moment we walked in door everyone was friendly and the restaurants was so clean! The Manager and each employee were Amazing and so Friendly!!!! Food was amazing, hot and fresh. Even as a vegetarian (made a coleslaw sandwich with sides) Highly recommend stopping here. Banana pudding was great as well!!!

Delicious food, however the lady working the drive through window was obviously hating life. She was so rude and miserable acting that not only did my husband and I both notice, but our nine year old even made a comment. If you aren’t capable of saying hi or bye working a drive through, you need some serious customer service training.

Just disappointed! I’m from NC and to visit a restaurant and food was bland just sad. No seasoning on collard greens, lime beans just bland. BBQ bland! NC is known for great southern food.. get it together.

I ordered through UBER EATS , this place is called Chicken & BBQ but they definitely will leave out your Chicken if you order $22.14 worth of food so I wouldn’t recommend go spend your money somewhere else. The rest of the food look good buts it’s cold like Refrigerator cold. My blind aunt could’ve had did me better than this smh . Thanks for the sides I guess. ✌

I received the chicken plate today. The customer service is usually always on point. They will keep the line moving. Chicken will always have that satisfying crunch of the skin and it juicy throughout. The potato salad and coleslaw has good consistency and texture. Even the hush puppies had a good cook on them, the only thing was they were lacking seasoning. This location is good if you do not want to be overwhelmed with seasoning so usually it will hit the under. Still a good place to come to.

I grew up in NC and went to college here, but somehow I missed this memo! Finally made it in and was tooo impressed! I got a plate which only has 2! pieces of chicken (tear!) It was nice and fresh nonetheless. And the young man who took our to go order was great and attentive. Soooo I went back, less than a week later. The food was good but…… This time there was waayyy too much breaden on my chicken. (I got the 4 piece box this time. Which comes with plenty of fries. The plate does not. You might want to add another side of fries, if you’re a fries person – like my son!) And I got a side of cole slaw of which I found to be very (sugary) sweet…
With only 2 visits under my belt, I won’t say I was disappointed… But I do intend to ask the manager for some chicken to go with this breaden (see picture) the next time I visit.
Just let them know how you want it- no breaden or once breaded.. and they’ll make sure it’s fresh fresh for you, especially if you ask.
Note: There’s no turkey bbq… (at least at this location….)
