What an amazing 360 view of seattle downtown and waterfront. It also has a great history exhibit. The elevator has an antique feel but very safe. Staff is incredible. Parking aroundis expensive but you can book cheaper options on apps like spothero. We went for a holiday party …. Incredible views all around. You can walk on a little balcony in the open all around.

I do recommend purchasing tickets ahead of your visit. It will make the experience much easier.

We enjoyed the history of the hotel and what it represents. It was an exceptional place and you can see the amazing craftsmanship in the building and along the self guided tour.

We did take the elevator up to the observation deck and was immediately greeted. We walked around to enjoy panoramic views of the city and landscape first.

After, we headed to the bar area and was immediately sat. We were seated by the bar in a table for two with views of the port side and water. There was a cocktail making class going on but noise level was not an issue.

Our waitress, who was quite young, came to take our drink order. My husband ordered a tequila cocktail and I opted for a lemonade. Our drinks were dropped off by the bartender as we enjoyed the views. The drinks were good and his was mixed well.

We were going to order a few plates to share (our neighboring table had a beautiful plate of edamame, buns and carrot cake) but our waitress never came back. She continued to prep tables, care for others and never turned around to see us trying to wave her down to order. We waited 45 minutes and decided we were tired of waiting and flagged another waiter for our check. We paid and left, disappointed in the service we had received.

While I do recommend coming here for the views, do not expect any good service from the waitress we had. It was disappointing as we have had exceptional service at literally every other place we visited. Come for the history, the views and that’s it. Skip the restaurant and overpriced tea service; the service is not great at the restaurant.

Took my boyfriend to Smith Tower since he’s never been. Definitely a fun way to experience a slice of Seattle history with a view! We went right when they opened at noon, which was perfect because it wasn’t crowded yet.

The Observatory Bar is super convenient, you can just kick back, sip on a cocktail, and soak in those gorgeous 360 deg panoramic views of the city, the Sound, and beyond. It’s giving old-school charm with a cozy, vintage vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era.

Scott was our bartender and it happened to be his first day, poor guy was definitely thrown into the fire trying to figure out where everything was! But despite the chaos, he handled it like a champ and made some mean cocktails. Cheers to you, Scott!

If you’re looking for a chill bar to enjoy the views without the typical touristy chaos, come early, grab a drink, and enjoy one of Seattle’s gems!

My kids took me here for my 60th birthday and it was an absolutely once in a life time experience. The food and tea were great, but I think that they work on the biscuits and dessert.

The tea was exceptional and highly recommend going here for the whole experience. The building was beautiful.

We didn’t get any bites at the bar, but we did get a few drinks and just enjoyed the view at the atmosphere. Got some great pics from the observatory. The little museum was cool too. Really set the mood and atmosphere of that art deco period.

The place was very scattered, but everyone was trying their best. I honestly don’t wanna give a bad review because all the servers were trying hard to rectify the situations and I appreciate that.
I paid to see the observatory and didn’t need to as a tourist. So don’t. Just grab a drink to get the views.
The bartenders were terrible until their manager told them to care.
I feel my money was wasted overall.

I’m giving them 2 stars because of the drinks. I got the flight of old fashions and I thought they were going to make them fresh. NOPE, each of them were pre-made and tasted funny. The express martini was not ehat I expected but better than the old fashion. Dont waste your money on the old fashions… they are not fresh!! Next time just get a beer. Views are great and also check Groupon I paid $17 instead of the $25 to get up there.

After viewing the Seattle skyline from the top of the Smith building observation deck, it is nice to have a bit of quiet time in the bar. Decorated in the original wooden vaults and icon hardwood the bar offers an indoor vista of the surrounding area. Sit back and enjoy a Mocktail or an alcoholic beverage as you take in the classic architecture of the observation bar. No one under 21 is admitted and you might need a reservation depending on the day and time you visit the Smith building.

Such a fantastic experience to see Seattle from up above. The lift has its own character too – one of the oldest hand crank elevator now modernized. Oh yes , we saw the old manual telephone exchange. The food is good too. Highly recommended.

I finally decided to go up to the observation bar/restaurant at the Smith Tower after coming to Seattle a few years in a row, and I’m so glad I did. As a skyscraper nerd, this place did not disappoint. The craftsmanship and the engineering is amazing! The views, while not as high as other prominent buildings in the central business district, are still really incredible. For dinner, I had a cocktail, salad, and a flat bread. While small, the salal ingredients were fresh, and the flat bread was quite delicious! The drink was quite good as well. Can’t wait to go back to this place!
