I’ve been wanting to purchase a Smith island cake for a long time. Finally got the opportunity to purchase a world famous cake. The bakery location is perfect. I had been visiting family on Smith Island and after landing on Crisfield, MD, the thought suddenly came to me, get a Smith Island cake to go. I was not disappointed… YUM YUM YUM… and to my surprise, the young lady that assisted me let me know that there were several enticing flavors. So exciting! After much consideration I chose the cake with the raspberry layers… so right… the young lady that assisted me let me know that the cakes are fully cooked and frozen. I informed her that I would reach my destination in approximately 3 hours. She removed a lot of the packing to help with the thawing process. By the time I arrived home, the cake was still a little frozen but by 5pm, dessert for dinner was just right. It was just right… some in my family are finicky with their desserts and the raspberry Smith Island cake was a hit! Nocked it out of the park! between the tart flavor of the raspberry and the sweet smoothness of the chocolate… so comforting… lots of smiles and happiness all around… Thank you for the high quality of your cakes and kuddos to the young lady that assisted me in selecting the perfect cake for my family… Kindest regards from a happy and satisfied customer in Virginia.

It arrived on time, was packed perfectly and even included The History of the cake for her to read. My Aunt was so surprised and Happy. She loved the flavor and said how good it tasted. I’ve always liked a smith island cake but never went crazy over them, then I tried the coconut one last holiday season and it was fantastic. I had to pick up dessert for a housewarming and saw they had a lemon cake available on Goldbelly, so I figured why not.
This cake was a huge hit. Everybody loved it and kept asking where it came from. It’s lemony and tart but not overly sweet. It is exactly what you want in a lemon cake. I’ll be ordering it again.

I highly recommend a visit to this unique piece of Americana. I called ahead and requested a “shipping ready” cake so I could bring it on my road trip and surprise my friends 1,000 miles away, 2-days later. The folks there are super friendly and I really enjoyed meeting them. The cake made it perfectly and blew my friends away!

I Had pre-ordered the birthday package and sent it to myself in SW Ohio and it arrived on the date I specified exactly.(I gave a 1.5 week notice) It was packaged 100% perfect and everything was frozen and intact. It was a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice packed with a nondescript overbox. Price was a bit high but worth it. The only weird thing is it’s made in Crisfield, not Ewell. Close enough though, still 100% great experience. The package included 4 pints of the ice cream, the original large cake, candles and chocolates. The reason I ordered this cake was their 100% guarantee, made me feel safer in my decision. I really need to get back to the island, but this time the taste of the island came to me. What a great birthday it was, it truly made my year!

Not only a wonderfully delicious cake but a conversation piece too. Cake was moist easy to thaw for servicing and was a huge hit for our Easter Celebration. Had a little hiccup with shipping contacted customer service AFTER hours and received a reply back from the owner Brian within 5 minutes. Problem resolved and cake was on the table for Easter. Family has requested these cakes for our family holidays and I have no objections! Thank you for a unique and delicious offering to our holidays.

The service offered through Goldbelly which is Smith Island’s partner is horrible. I tried the bot, emailing and I stayed on hold for 20 minutes then it disconnected. What a scam! I would not recommend ordering cakes online.

A must visit. Cake bites are amazing and a great way to discuss your next cake selection with family. You can not go wrong with the traditional cake. I can’t stop thinking about the red velvet cake. Go out of your way to stop here and save room in your cooler for dessert. You can order online, but this place deserves at least one visit in person to witness the quality product and clean operation.
