My experience at Kapam Bites at the Lathrop Food Plaza in Lathrop was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked up to their vibrant stand, the inviting aroma of Filipino cuisine wrapped itself around me like a warm hug, promising a culinary adventure I wouldn’t soon forget. The staff at Kapam Bites were incredibly welcoming and attentive, eager to share the rich and flavorful dishes that have garnered them a loyal following. As I perused the menu, it was immediately clear that this was not just a meal, but an opportunity to delve into the heart of Filipino food culture. I decided to try their legendary tapsilog, a dish highly recommended by just about everyone I spoke to in line. The presentation was impeccable, with a generous portion of marinated beef, garlic fried rice, and a perfectly fried egg nestled together in a harmonious blend of colors and textures.

The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the tapsilog’s beef sauce, which was a masterclass in flavor and consistency. The tapsilog stood out not just for its tender slices of beef, but for the rich, saucy marinade that enrobed every morsel of meat. The beef sauce was thick and luscious, adding a depth of flavor that elevated the entire dish. It was a beautiful balance of sweet, salty, and umami notes, with the right amount of garlic and a hint of tanginess that kept my taste buds dancing. Paired with the fragrant garlic rice and the yolky goodness of the fried egg, each bite of the tapsilog was a celebration of flavors. This saucy symphony made it clear why Kapam Bites is a beloved fixture at the Lathrop Food Plaza. It’s not just about satiating hunger but about experiencing a moment of culinary bliss that keeps you coming back for more.

This is my new go-to Filipino food truck. We had the sisig, fried chicken, beef pares, and lechon kawali. They all have one thing in common: They are very flavorful, and the meat is very tender.

The food here is so great my family and I absolutely love it ! I’ve been so sad I haven’t been able to go since they’ve been temporarily closed for a little now and I’m urgently waiting for them to open back up. I go back here often and you really can’t beat their prices either. Hopefully they reopen soon.

I was blown away by the flavors from this food truck! I wasn’t expecting such authenticity. Give them a try next time you’re in Lathrop—the lumpia is delicious! But be warned, they sell out quick on the good stuff. Good service, good people, good food. You can’t go wrong!
