Best budget smashburger in ATL! They have a great gluten free bun, and have done a great job keeping the GF burger as a safe and favorite option for my celiac wife! There’s a shared fryer, so fries aren’t GF.
I also love that they do rotating specialty burgers. We take ATL visitors here all the time. You really can’t beat it at the price. The patio is great and they’ve added heaters and tarp for the colder months. Carryout orders are a breeze and there’s a slick local resident discount ❤️. Keep doing your thing Smileys!

what can i say smileys rocks. this place is fantabulous. high quality burger which is 10/10 my platonic ideal burger. i like that the menu was simple and that the staff was extraordinarily friendly. i liked the sunny patio, i liked the fry dipping sauce. the fries were a 4/5 for me but i have a very strict fry ranking scale so it is hard to get a 5/5 in my book. the poco loco collab burger was phenomenal which is what you would expect. it was sunny and beautiful out when we ate our burgers and we had a lovely conversation with a fellow patron about boots – that’s just the vibe here. this place ranks high on my ATL burger list. please come here if you are craving a burger like i was, you won’t regret it.

I found Smiley Burger Club on social media and decided to give it a try with my good friend and I’m so glad we did! The staff was absolutely amazing and took the time to explain everything on the menu, which really made the experience even better.
The smash burgers were delicious perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We tried the cheese curds and smiley fries, both of which were super tasty and fresh. The pear cider was a pleasant surprise with a great flavor, and the grape slushie was something different but really good!
The place has a fun and unique vibe, especially with the baseball cards on display not sure what the story behind them is, but it’s definitely a cool different touch. There’s outdoor seating only, which was perfect for tonight’s nice weather, but I could see it being a bit tricky in colder or rainy weather.
The price was a bit up there because everything was a la carte. Cheese curds, smiley fries, one smashburger, one beer, one slushie came out to be $50.
Overall, Smiley Burger Club is a great little spot with amazing food, friendly staff, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a quality burger and something a little different!

Everything you could want in a smash burger. I heard all about this place and I’m glad I got to eat there today. Burger was excellent. Fries were great. And the sauce was the best. Parking is a pain in the rear, but it adds to the experience. Don’t let the parking keep you from eating here! Don’t be afraid of a line…it’s worth the wait!

I heard about this place because they won Atlanta burger week in 2025. I decided to stop by on my way home, and I’m glad I did. I just started with the foundation, the single burger, and it was excellent. The burger was super flavorful, had crispy edges, and even though the toppings were simple, it was executed flawlessly. What a smashburger should be. I’ll have to come back to try the fries or cheese curds. The service also was fast, but still friendly. They had a nice patio right outside of the order window for seating. But this is a nice quaint neighborhood gem.

Tried Smileys for the first time because my friend kept raving about the burgers and they did not disappoint! They have their own private parking lot in the back, they have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the fresh air, and most important they have beer! Ha ha
I got the smash burger with cheese and lots of free toppings and shared the “Smiley” fries which is those kids fries that are a smiley face which were what you wouid think. Next time I want to try the real fries. Staff was awesome, burger was amazing, atmosphere was amazing, OH and they give you an old random baseball card with your meal which was neat (see pics). Anyway I told my wife about it and will be coming back for a date night soon!!

Wow. My family and I are definitely adding this to our list of favorites! The smash burgers were excellent… crispy and so delicious! The outdoor seating area was lovely, bathrooms were clean and easily accessible and the service by Alana was really wonderful and attentive. Our food came quickly and piping hot. My son raved about the baseball cards and his fries on the way home! Safe to say, we will be back! A must try in Decatur!

I’ve had smash burgers from Heavy Handed in La, Cowy Burger in Miami, NFA in Dunwoody and many more and I have to say Smileys is pretty spankin good! The sauce alone will make you call the cops! Great smash with crispy, oh sooo crispy edges that’ll make you slap a donkey and call your mom. Dang good!

Such comparisons are, I fear, a tad bit foolish and perhaps unfair to Smiley’s Burger Club. I found the burger a tad bit greasy, it glistened with such enthusiasm that I momentarily worried it might slide off the plate and attempt escape.
My partner and I, concluded that Smiley’s may be a touch overpraised. Not entirely undeserving of affection though. A decent burger, inflated by gossip and ultimately undone perhaps by its own legend.

My sister-friend and I had the best experience at Smiley’s! The burgers were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
A special shout-out to the sweetest host, who greeted us with so much kindness, positivity, and warmth. Her energy made the whole experience even better and set the tone for such an enjoyable meal.
