There is an old soul food thing that be careful about your attitude when cooking because it shows and it comes out in your food. Honestly, could’ve been seasoned a little better. And for it to be fresh, it was just dry and the proportions were nice for the price.
Don’t leave a tip Using a credit card, they don’t pay their cooks The tip if it’s distributed using a credit card, I thought that was a little unorthodox.
They keep it very cordial, but their attitude demeanor is very edgy. Unfriendly looks and I understand that us is black. People can be direct in blunt. However, customer service is something that you should always strive for regardless of your color and that means a friendly welcoming smile, and demeanor anything lesser than it’s just not even appropriate, especially when you are in a profession of hospitality of any sort .
My rating is a two because I don’t know about anyone else, but you can have the best meal that anyone has ever eaten, but if you’re genre and your demeanor is not on point I go off of vibes and I only want to eat and spend money at places that give off friendly vibes.

We were in from Virginia and decided to go by Smaxx after going to the Negro Baseball Museum. The food, atmosphere, and interactions with the managers and customers were awesome. We definitely loved the Chicken Chop Sub, talking with Uncle Mike, and sharing my brisket from Chucky’s Barbecue.

What a great local spot to stop for some lunch after taking in all the history of the Jazz Museum. We had the burger, chili cheese fries and the cheese steak and everything was great.
The ladies running the joint were nice and they cooked everything on the spot. I’ll have to come back to try the wings and chicken.

Decided to have nice night out. Didn’t know I would receive a 2 for 1. The service was awesome and lively (at the daiquiri and wing spot). The ambiance is nice the cover change was $5.00 atm and there is an outside patio area to sit. The music was Banging! and the drinks are flavorful to many options to count. Only drink 1 (2 if you live close by) lol. Can’t wait to enjoy the vibe again! Parking was easy to find

While visiting KC I gotta a chance to taste what the hype was about at Smaxx!!! We ordered lunch. The Diva Cheesesteak combines two of my favorites: chicken and beef bacon. Yes beef bacon!!!! The meat was moist and the bacon just right add cheese on a hoagie role and this Diva was pleased. And I did get to taste the hot wings too . Crispy chicken tossed in the sauce. Delicious. The service was great, the food was served hot and ready. Definitely a spot I will be visiting again.
