This place has a lot of diverse hamburgers. The diversity of hamburger types is what someone should come here for.

I’ve only had the Classic Burger, I believe it was called, twice. It was good the time I ordered it with everything on it, but not especially flavourful the time without everything. The Cynic in me wants to say they call it Smashburger because they “smash” all the flavour out of it. Seriously, isn’t all the fat what makes a burger tasty? I think I’ll try their vegetarian option the next time. That sounds good.

The Fries I think are Great! They’re very small and crispy. I couldn’t have enough of them. 🙂 The staff are industrious and appear to help customers quickly. It’s actually very spacious inside and very clean.

If I’m craving a burger and need it to be vegetarian I’ll come here. Their Build Your Own options are quite good and one can actually make a fairly healthy (less than harmful) meal with the chicken breast and multi-grain buns. Sevice is fast and the staff is always friendly when I’m there. The shoestring fries are good, too, but my favorite are the malt shakes that can be ordered.

I really want to like this place. The food is pretty good, shakes are nice and the fries are tasty. It’s nice to have another burger joint to chose from as well.
But the service here is meh. It’s not bad, just not really the best.

Several times when I’ve gone they had missed that I had ordered fries, which isn’t a big deal but it’s worth mentioning. They seem to be understaffed at times, and often that means there’s no one to wipe down tables and clean the floors. As a result, the floors and tables often have crumbs or spills near them.

The seating arrangements are also fairly strange. They only have a few tables with actual moveable chairs that can seat 4 people. Most of their tables are for two or along the window elevated with stools bolted to floor, which is in no way my favorite kind of seating arrangement.

Trying out SmashBurger. The bacon wasn’t as crisp as I’d prefer so I couldn’t bite through it at one point so ate the whole strip as it pulled out of the burger. The burger itself was good but not overly memorable. The sandwich was good overall, nothing very wrong with any of it. The fries had olive oil and rosemary and were good. I just don’t prefer such small fries.

I’d come back and try a special burger or maybe a chicken sandwich.

The staff is really nice and the burgers are delicious!!
Only drawback, the place can get pretty dirty sometimes. I can’t see the difference between a regular burger and a big one.

Good food and friendly staff. Any of their burger sandwiches can be made as chicken sandwiches and taste just as good. Preparation can sometimes run a little long, so give yourself time; it’s worth it.

Ok so here is the deal. I got a bacon cheese burger, fries, an oreo shake, and a regular fountain soda. It cost me over $15 for the whole meal. The burger had one patty which is a shame because you would think it would just be the best meat for $10 (excluding options), but it wasn’t. The bacon dominated the flavor as did the mustard. The shake, although good, was not thick and rich as implied by the given plastic spoon. The fries were pretty good though if not a little small. In comparison at Chik Fil A you can get two spicy chicken sandwiches, a large fry, an oreo shake, and a fountain soda for under what Smashburger offers. Even the Five Guys (A Washington DC staple) in Kensington offers better quality and quantity for the same price if not a dollar more (still getting a bacon cheese burger with k,m,m,bbq, regular fries, an oreo shake, and a soda). But if you aren’t looking for a shake and want fries, just down the street is South Street Steaks. Their fries are so good my mom wants them when I tell her that I ate there for lunch. See my review for them as well. Smashburger more like smash my budget and leave me out for pasture.

Food was delicious (no doubt) as I’ve been to Smash burger (another location) twice. But the staff (at the register) did not make me feel welcome to the restaurant.

Pretty good service. The burgers are a bit too greasy for my tastes. Really good sweat potato fries though.
