Ive been a Chicken Basket customer since High School in 2007, and I can say that it keeps getting better. The new owner has nailed the classics. The food is tasty, not too greasy, and never over-fried. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this location also serves West African dishes. I have had a few of these meals which were fabulous. I also appreciate that the West African food is authentic yet made in a way that the spices are not overwhelming and anyone who is not used to the flavor profiles can easily adjust. This restaurant is truly a gem!!

Don’t I Repeat Don’t waste your time ordering this dry chicken, I washighly disappointed with my recent experience. Not only did the owner get my order wrong, when I showed the options they had available on toastab their online ordering site. He then began to tell me they had to raise the price as if that’s an excuse. I ordered a spicy chicken sub combo which is listed at 9.50 with fries and soda. He then overcharged me for 13 dollars saying the fries and soda weren’t included. I asked for ketchup and hot sauce and received 2 packets each. For all them dry fries, bring out the bottle. Next time, I’ll go with a better choice like Kenny’s Sub shop. I hope this helps the next person from eating an overpriced dry sandwich.

(New management) I didn’t have time to post a pic, the food is to great to hold off on. Best steak&cheese in town. The fries seasoned and flavorful. Chicken made fresh upon order. Hidden Gem in Wheaton… Don’t pass up a great place to eat!

Great experience! The owner was very patient when I wasn’t sure of what to get and showed me the different wing options. The food is fried to order so there was a wait, but totally worth it for the freshness (he even turned the TV so I could watch the game while I waited). I had the buffalo wings with hot honey sauce (delicious) and the fish and chips (the seasoning on the fries was great).

I just went today with my husband and daughter and the service was amazing! The chicken was flavorful, fries & onion rings were very good, the coleslaw is one of my favorites now, it was so fresh and well balanced. The chef has a variety of sauces that he makes and let me tell you, they were finger liking good! I will definitely recommend this place if you want good service and flavorful fried chicken.

Great service and food!!! I had stopped eating here for a cpl years until I ate there again about 3 months ago when I realized there was new management. It was filthy before. It is so clean now and the food is much better! The management is an extremely nice couple. My favorites are the steak and cheese, wings and things combo, and their fries!!! And that mambo sauce is great!!! Want a quick bit to eat, try any of their lunch specials. I haven’t had 1thing I didn’t like!!!! I eat there at least once a week!

I still remember this being one of the best fried chicken joints in the D.C. area. Even though I haven’t been there in 14 years. Should I return, at least to visit, I would make this a stop on my itinerary.
The chicken and the fries were coated with an Old Bay-like seasoning, and were delicious. All the rest of the food is good, old-school fare, that tasted home-made, and not artificial.
Would highly recommend if you are in the mood for some outstanding fried chicken.

I love the chicken and fries. No fountain sodas is my only complaint. It is operated by a nice older man and woman who are very friendly. It takes time so call ahead if you don’t want to wait 10-15 minutes.

Don’t even try it!!! I went in there and noticed the previous owner wasn’t there no more and I decided to check the new owner out. I made my order and was told it will be ready in 20 mins nope that didn’t happen I waited 45 mins because deep fried take a long time to cook. I worked in the kitchen before um not really. I got my food and left I noticed they put barely any fries and the chicken you can tell was cooked in old oil. When my family tried the steak and cheese is was it’s extremely salty I tasted after to confirm , so I decided to call and she told me everyone knows that the steaks for the stubs already come with salt and that they told put salt. I told her well the previous owner who I was a customer for for years since middle school never made is so salty. She continues to say well it’s his meat we are using what he had gave us and I hung up because I don’t want to waste my time on people who won’t take accountability. Don’t waste your money forgot to mentioned I understand inflation but my goodness the price smh
