This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I never heard about Sly Bandit before, so I decided to pay a visit while in the area.
The brewery occupies its own modern building with a big parking lot. The first floor is dedicated to the fermentation tanks, while the taproom is located on the second floor – there is an elevator available. The place is not big, but cozy. It has a full kitchen. I ordered a flatbread, a sandwich and mac and cheese for kids and we enjoyed everything. The brewery is family-operated, so at some days you can see two generations of owners onsite. I had a pleasure of chatting a lot with one of the owners – Mike – for the majority of my stay at the brewery.
There were 17 taps available during my visit with an option of purchasing a beer flight of 4. For this review, I tried all of them. The menu covers all the major styles. You won’t find experimental beers, but everything that is brewed here is solid. I especially appreciate seeing rarer styles like Black IPA. But my favorites for the day were Christmas Ale (Winter Warmer) and Baker Street Brown (Brown Ale). The former was especially remarkable and memorable due to the perfect balance between spices and hops.
This is a very good place to visit, not just for the beer, but also for the tasty food. I will recommend this brewery to others.

Fun new little spot next to the Walmart on the Wilton / Norwalk border. Industrial feel with concrete floors, hard wooden furniture, open ceilings and an overall minimalist decor. Best part of the whole experience were the staff. Very friendly and attentive with good sense of humor and engagement. Beer is decent. I wouldn’t drive too far out of your way, but a nice selection of pilsners, IPAs, Hazys and some porters. Food is the same – decent but overall quite expensive with small portions. We got the eggrolls which were good but quite demure in stature. Lacked both girth and length but were well stuffed and the flavor and crispiness were on point. The Wurst was really tasty, very smoky and great fattiness. Definitely smaller than I was imagining. Chicken sandwich was decent but also really small. Very juicy but lacking salt. Fries for both dishes are fresh cut and tasty. Good amount of salt but not crispy enough IMHO. May head back if they had new beers on tap.

A little lacking on the atmosphere. Tried a flight of IPAs, not a huge difference from beer to beer. Appetizers are what you would expect for good bar apps. All in all, a good pop-in spot but a little stale.

Loved this brewery!! Cute, clean space. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite empty. We have a CT beer passport book that brought us there. Parking lot was a good size and easily accessible. The staff was so sweet and attentive. Seating was open and they served you at the table. A handful of beers on tap with a mix of options. They have a full menu and my boyfriend and I had the tacos – chicken and pulled pork, which were both delicious! Great sized portions. We also loved their logo, super cute design. I would love to see their space busier on a Saturday afternoon! If you drive by, consider stopping by for some great vibes.

Overall: great place for some beer and bites! The taproom was on the second floor with an elevator for accessibility needs. The beer menu was very diverse and gives everyone a selection of beers they like — from Pilsners to IPAs to stouts and more. There are some beers that are small batch and they are work trying for their limited time! Their food menu was very nice and the food was delish! I’d recommend this place to anyone on Route 7 area wanting a nice brewery with great staff and atmosphere! The owners were very friendly and attentive. The place was extremely clean as well! There is one more friend cheese half and pretzel bite than the picture shows — we were very hungry!

Nice space with very good service. Terrible acoustics especially with little kids running around. The Helles lager tasted like Coors light. The Keller Pilsner was good. The fried pickles were a clump of fried bread crumbs. The flatbread was not good at all. The pretzels were decent. The peach salad was very good. I’m sure with time they will iron out the wrinkles. ( A lot of 5 star reviews from folks that only reviewed this place… interestingly suspicious.)

Was in Norwalk/Wilton for the night on business. Sly Bandit Brewing did not disappoint! Great beers (Mexican Lager & Pilsner). The Frickle BLT Tacos were amazing. I got the regular fries (went easy on the spice). BIG portions. Do yourself a favor and go here if you are nearby. WOW. Thanks for a great meal!
