Food was really good. I had ribs, brisket and chicken breast. I didnt care too much for the sauce they had already on the chicken. But everything else was good. Brisket was soooo tender and the ribs were on point. That was my favorite. I had Mac and cheese and Green beans. The sides were ok. I was expecting the green beans to be cooked differently. They are still hard but flavored well. The Mac and cheese kinda had more cheese than noodles. But over all I enjoyed my food. I would come again.

Was excited to eat here because I had great memories of the Detroit location. Overall, I would not recommend. I went with another person and we split a few items so we could try a variety of foods. The service was excellent, and the baked beans were delicious, but I’m giving three stars because:

– the brisket was dry
– the caesar salad dressing was bland and seemed watered down
– the corn bread was dry
– the Mac and cheese seemed as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile
– the coleslaw was decent, but lacking salt
– the prices were high, which can be rationalized if the food is great, but this was not the case.

Hopefully Slow’s can turn things around. I won’t be coming back any time soon.

The yardbird is delicious. And the carrot cake is a must-try. The best carrot cake I’ve ever had! The place is really clean and the service is excellent. Can’t wait to come back!

Had an early lunch there on a Saturday and there’s really nothing to be critical of. Our server was prompt, attentive, and friendly. The food came out quick, hot, and fresh. My wife and I each got one of the combo plates (which was far too much food for lunch!) We easily could have split one combo plate between us. The drink menu is not overcomplicated and lengthy.

Brisket — good. Pulled pork — good. Honestly I was most impressed by the pulled chicken. I feel like at most places pulled chicken is just kinda “meh”. But I really liked it here, even more than the pork I think. The apple BBQ sauce was my favorite while my wife really enjoyed the NC-style.

Overall a great visit. I feel like they’ve worked out the kinks I’ve read from earlier reviews. I will say we were probably the 2nd party there for the day so I can’t speak to what an experience would be like at a busier time. But we really enjoyed ourselves and were happy to have lunch tomorrow ready to go!

I was a regular customer of blue tractor before they closed. I’ve tried the new Slows in AA and had been pleasantly impressed. However, today, on my visit there was a long nasty hair in my brisket. The server was super unapologetic, and simply took a couple of bucks off my bill and that was it. I would likely have been a regular customer, but after this experience it makes you wonder what else they are overlooking. Will not be back. You lost my business! Horrible service and food! Do NOT COME HERE!

We tried out Slows’ newest location, it was decent BBQ. We were surprised to arrive and find out they were completely out of pulled pork, as that is a popular item and one that we were looking forward to trying. However, their pulled chicken was tender and a good alternative. The ribs were not fall off the bone tender, you had to really chew on them to get the meat off. Their waffle fries came with cheese sauce on them and I enjoyed their ranch for dipping, it definitely tasted homemade! Brisket was very good.

It was so amazing, best bbq I’ve had in a long time. Wish they would come to my town. Every bite was better than the last.

I was excited to see Slow’s move into Ann Arbor – although I hadn’t been to the Detroit location in many years. How is it? I think most people will think it’s “fine.” The sides are good. Sauces are mostly good. The smoked meats… that’s another story. To someone accustomed to BBQ – especially Texas-style BBQ – the meats are prepared in an amateur fashion. Dry. Fat not rendered completely. Dirty smoke flavor. A slice of Brisket flat should drape over a knife – not be as stiff as a board. Also, it’s not good when you burp and have indigestion for hours afterward with a cigarette taste in the mouth – again, too much creosote from poor fire management. Slow’s should invest in talent who know how to run these automated pits properly like they do in the south. There’s better BBQ alternatives in the area.

Huge portions make for a good value and lots of leftovers.
Unfortunately, pork arrived close to room temperature, and beef brisket was dry and tough. Brisket is hard to get right, so understandable. But Slow’s has been doing this for a while, and Aaron Franklin has shared all the secrets of good brisket. So, rather bizarre. Perhaps just new location growing pains.
The carrot cake sounds delicious, but will have to wait.

We ate here last night for the first time with a group of friends. Both my husband and I ordered the pulled pork sandwiches. They were pretty good, though the meat was a dry and burnt in parts. The coleslaw and pickles that topped it, as well as the bun were very good. For a BBQ place, I was suprised by how awful the bbq sauces were. There was a selection of about 6 different kinds on our table. All but the spicy sauce (which I liked) was super runny, I mean like water! The NC sauce was so vinegary it was overpowering.

The only salad that’s on the menu is Caesar salad. We asked if they had ranch dressing (it’s not listed on the menu) and they do, so my husband and I both ordered Caesars with ranch instead. The ranch is housemade and it’s awesome! We shared a piece of carrot cake which was huge, but not outstanding. The cream cheese frosting was pretty grainy from the sugar not being incorporated enough into the cream cheese.

Our friends didn’t like some menu items, including the ribs.
Our server was nice, but our billed got screwed up, though she was able to fix it. We were charged for 2 glasses of wine, and only ordered 1, and were charged for waffle fries that we did order but never received. It was good we never got the fries, as a guy at the table next to us didn’t like his and asked to have them removed from his bill.

One last thing, the place is SO loud! I had a headache the entire time from the noise. Slows really needs to add somthing that will absorb some of the noise so it’s more of a relaxing atmosphere.

Doubt if we’ll ever come back.
