The first thing that hits you is the incredible aroma—a solid mix of rich coffee and the sweet, warm scent of baking bread. It’s the kind of welcome that instantly makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is wonderfully welcoming; it’s a cute, bustling shop where you’ll see students studying, friends catching up, and families enjoying a weekend treat. The space feels lived-in and loved
Their coffee smells amazing, and the taste lives up to the promise. It’s the perfect complement to their baked goods. I also have to give a special mention to their bread. After seeing so many people rave about it, I took a loaf of the sourdough home, and it was some of the best I’ve had outside of a major city.
This place is a genuine treasure in Forest Grove. It’s the kind of spot you’ll find yourself planning your weekend around. Do yourself a favor and go. Just be sure to go early—the best things sell out fast
Extra note: the customer service is wildly wonderful, everyone is always so kind, AND they make extra bread to give back to their community. This doesn’t make the food taste better, but it does make my day brighter!
P.S. Go early for their day-old bread- cheaper, fresher, and way better than store bought could dream of.
The standout for me is their Asiago sundried tomato bread. It has a rich, savory depth that hits you right away, with the cheese and tomatoes balancing each other perfectly. The crust has just the right amount of bite, and the inside stays soft without losing structure. It is the kind of loaf that makes even a simple slice feel like a small event.
Everything else I have tried has been consistently well made, but that Asiago sundried tomato bread is the reason I keep going back. Slow Rise Bakery House has earned a spot on my regular rotation, and it is absolutely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates thoughtful, skillful baking.
