Loved this place (this post is very overdue). I visited Sloppy Joe’s last summer. There food was awesome, and their bottomless mimosas were my favorite vacay memory. I enjoyed the restaurants fun and beachy atmosphere. We visited multiple times, some servers were much better than others. Some were very welcoming, others made us feel rushed. Overall had a very good time.

Disappointing to say the least. This location is in need of a serious upgrade. Very outdated and frankly dirty. Grouper sandwich was very underwhelming, fries were as cold as the temperature outside. Crackers stale on the fish spread and only 8. Tacos, blue cheese chips, and another fish sandwich were met with the same disappointment. It’s really too bad with the location of this facility. Avoid if possible….. On another note, our service was impeccable. Our server was always around, cheerful, and a delightful. Too bad she doesn’t cook…….

Great place right on the beach! Sat here for happy hour ($3.50 beers) and watch the afternoon turn to evening and the sun going down over the ocean. Good vibes, good staff, good views! Highly recommend!

Food was really good, BUT we waited for over an hour to be served after we ordered. There were four of us and we all ordered different entrees. I got the blackened Mahi, which was cooked perfectly. The cheeseburger in paradise was also delicious. They have an outside dining area as well as inside seating. We sat outside & enjoyed nice live music with a beautiful sunset. Parking is limited & costs $20. After dinner, we took a mile walk on the paved path that follows the beach.

Ordered the “Cheeseburger in Paradise” one of their Premium Burgers. These burgers are a propriety blend of chuck, brisket & short rib. I ordered mine without lettuce and tomato and medium rare. The burger came out as ordered and was actually the best burger I have had in a very, very long time. It had the taste of a great steak. My order also came with fries that were cooked to my perfect satisfaction, very crispy on the outside. My Server Kelly was very nice and I was impressed with her attention. I ordered a slice of key lime pie for desert and it was OMG! Delicious. I would definitely recommend Sloppy Joe’s to anyone visiting this area.

I enjoyed the beachfront outdoor bar location. I ordered the mahi platter. It came with rice and broccoli because they were out of string beans. Unfortunately, my mahi fish was tough to cut with a knife. It was kind of rubbery and apparently overcooked. I should have sent it back. My mistake for not doing so. I would go to Sloppy Joe’s again, but I would request that the fish be cooked so it is flaky and tender.

After being seated it was about 10 mins before my server came by dropping off a water. I told him I was ready to order and he said he would be right back. I waited another 10 mins and decided to sit at the bar since they had not come back. The restaurant was not very busy, idk what he was doing. I ordered the grouper bites and sloppy Joe. The grouper bites were good. For being the name sake of the restaurant I expected them to go all out or have the sloppy Joe be amazing. It was probably the most disappointing sloppy Joe I’ve had in my life. It was more of a Disheveled Joey. Very disappointed over all with it.

Came in here because I was in key west multiple times. Arrogant bartender was rude and not concerned at all about his customers. Baseball hat long hair. Ordered a Bloody mary which I said was Ernest hemmingways favorite. His answer “hes been dead forever” . Kitchen staff or runner brought my mozzarella sticks and walked away. I had no silverware or napkins. Should I use a coaster??? This a typical chain tourist trap restaurant. I guess being a Wednesday it’s on the slow side so the bartenders and staff are spoiled and expect to make hundreds of dollars a night. To me every customer should be treated with with superior service everytime. I would rather go across the street to Vip mexican or Ricky ts and get better service.
First and last time I will come here. Sadly this is a money grab on the Sloppy Joe name.
Looking forward to it running itself into the ground and another more passionate establishment taking over .
Courtney was very pleasant but hae looked overwhelmed and looked like she had to carry the other bartender.

Stopped in at Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach and overall had a really good experience.
We started with chips and queso — flavor was nice but the queso wasn’t quite hot enough, so it came out a little thick. Chips were decent, though not as fresh as I’d hoped. The fries were excellent — thick cut, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Seasoning was okay but could’ve used just a touch more.
The burger was the highlight for me. Great flavor, super fresh toppings, and a solid bun. If the patty was just a bit thicker and the bun had more of a toast, it would be next-level. Drinks weren’t my favorite (the fountain mix seemed a little off), but my friend thought they were fine.
Dessert was hands down the star — the key lime pie is impeccable. Creamy, perfectly tart, and the best way to end the meal.
If you go, I recommend sitting inside. The birds outside are pretty relentless, and the service seemed more attentive indoors too.
Overall, Sloppy Joe’s is a great beach spot with tasty food — especially the burger, fries, and key lime pie. A few small tweaks and it could easily be a five-star experience.
