I pass this place when going about town and have always been curious…. Wednesday afternoon i finally stopped in, about 12:30. There were people @ just a few tables. Bartender Michelle was friendly & attentive. I told her i drove by Tuesday night about 6:00 & there were a lot of cars. She said Tuesday is trivia night so it tends to get quite busy. Noted. I asked if today was a usual afternoon, quiet? She said yes, usually 2 to 4. I opted for a couple of tap beers. They have 22 on tap! I like how each sign indicates: beer name, brewery, ABV & city. I opted for a Wisconsin Amber by Capital and an old reliable… Old Style. Parking is easy w free street parking. There were two or three steps to get in, up to Sloopys once you open the ffont door. Once inside, Sloopys definitely has a comfortable vibe. Thanks for the welcoming inaugural visit Michelle & Sloopys. Looking forward to another visit… maybe bringing my appetite this time. Their burger menu is fun, burgers named after most states.

Outstanding service. Clean atmosphere. 3 piece fish with Cheese Curds and Onion rings. Sides excellent and fish was satisfying. I will try it grilled on my next visit. Love this place. A staple of La Crosse.

Came to La Crosse looking for a good burger and found one at Sloopy’s. I was torn as their pizza is reportedly good but passed as I really wanted a burger. I ordered the Wisconsin burger which had a number of good toppings. It was very good. I also sampled their tots and homemade chips. Our waitress was attentive. This is a clean establishment. I likely would return to try the pizza.

Traveling home to Minneapolis from Milwaukee I was CRAVING some delicious wings and pizza, and after scouring a few hundred mile radius along I90/I94 on the route home, after looking at the Sloopy online menu I had to make the short detour. And I was not disappointed!
I sat at bar and tried one of their taps on hand, a Dogfish Hazy IPA, while ordering the breaded parmesan wings (with an extra side of sauce) plus a large of their house deluxe pizza to go. The wings were MASSIVE and the extra breading added some additional volume. The deluxe took about 30 min in the car before I started snacking on the loaded pizza on a perfect cracker crust, but only made it a few squares after being loaded up on the wings
The staff was super friendly and very helpful with questions, and even having an extra beer, polishing the wings, and grabbing my pizza, I was back on the road in 30 min time. Highly recommend and definitely would stop again!

Heard good things about this place. tried it, it was disgusting. Pizza was overcooked and burnt. Overheard employees complaining about the owners taking tips from their employees. Overall there are better bars in the area, don’t bother wasting your time and money

Came in to place a To-Go order for chicken strips, there wasn’t much business at the time, most people were drinking.
My order for chicken strips took almost a whole hour.
If they were busy I would have expected to wait, but I couldn’t figure out why my food took so long considering they didn’t have any other business.
Won’t be ordering food again unless it’s a last resort.

Classic “dive bar on the outside super nice on the inside” switcheroo. My friend and I wanted to get some food to go to take to a brewery that didn’t serve food, so we came here. The places that look questionable on the outside always have the best food, and this is no exception. Our bartender was great. We shared the honey garlic chicken wrap (which was definitely big enough for two people), and it was seriously awesome. So were the tator tots – they tasted like potato oles from Taco Johns. The honey garlic sauce was excellent with a little bit of a kick). Plus, they had a pretty impressive tap list so we could have a beer while we waited. Would definitely go back.
